Then his trainer was the well known in the U.S.S.R. CESLAV TAMULEVICH(Чеслав Тамулевич). So in 1976 VYTAUTAS PLECKEVICIUS became the Over All Junior Winner at the International contest in Kalinin (now Tver, Russian Federation). INFORMATION. 1979 „AMBER PRIX INTERNATIONAL“. 1979 IMPORTANT EVENTS AND HAPPENINGS. We would like to remind that due to political reasons after 1973 bodybuilding sport was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and Socialist countries. In 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS wrote the petition to defend bodybuilding. This petition he brought to Moscow and presented to the highest U.S.S.R. political institutions. The 1978 „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023, Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR, organizer DSc. Edmundas Daubaras) was organized just after DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS visited Moscow to defend the bodybuilding sport. In Moscow he presented his petition to the U.S.S.R. highest political organizations. The petition was given to the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist Party (Центральный Комитет Коммунистической партии С.С.С.Р.), to the U.S.S.R. Supreme Council (Верховный Совет С.С.С.Р.) and to the U.S.S.R. Ministry Council (Совет Министров С.С.С.Р.) and to the U.S.S.R. cental political newspapers „Pravda“ («Правда») and „Izvestija“ («Известия»). Due to the petition of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS U.S.S.R. political powers gave permition to organize „Amber Prix International“ in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR). But DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS wanted much more. He dared to organize the „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ («ЧемпионатС.С.С.Р. покультуризму») together with 1978 „Amber Prix“. No one knew what the reaction of political powers will be. Nevermind DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS had taken the risk and did this step.
The 1978 petition of the DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to defend bodybuilding did some changes in the work of the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport (Министерство спорта С.С.С.Р., Госкомспорт С.С.С.Р.). As told by one of the Chairman of the 1968 U.S.S.R. Bodybuidling Federation (ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.) R.S.F.S.R. weightlifter GENADIJ BALDIN (ГеннадийБалдин) the petition to the U.S.S.R. highest polititians made big mess in the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport. Somebody was even punnished... At that time GENADIJ BALDIN was working at the U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation and he was very well informed about all happenings in the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport. They remembered previous 1963 and 1968 U.S.S.R. Bodybuidling Federations that were set due to the F.I.H.C. (Federation Internationale Halterophile et Culturiste) activities through the World. Due to the DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS petition U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport accepted the fresh „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («Комиссия атлетической гимнастики С.С.С.Р.» as well as «Федерация культуризма С.С.С.Р.»). as it was in 1963 the „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ was a part of the „U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation“ (Федерация тяжёлой атлетики С.С.С.Р.). Nevertheless bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. was still prohibited and this bodybuilding federation egzisted only formally. It did zero work in fact. The Chairman of the „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ was a R.S.F.S.R. Weightlifter ROMAN MOROZ (Роман Мороз), the General Secretary ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS.
As a result of the petition U.S.S.R. polititians let DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to organize „Amber Prix International“ bodybuilding contests in Klaipeda. The 1978 „Amber Prix“ was an example to other bodybuilders of the U.S.S.R.. During the bodybuilding prohibition they started showing „Amber Prix International“ to local political powers and asking permition to organize contests. Unfortunatelly it happened not so quickly. Only Kaunas (Lithuanian SSR) organizers started making political contests under the name „Comsomol Cup“ („Komjaunimo taurė“, «Кубок комсомола»). In 1978 after the successfull „Amber Prix International“ DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS visited People‘s Republic of Poland and Czechoslovakian SSR. In Warszawa he spoke with bodybuilders of „Hercules“ Gym. They gave DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS a written invitation for the U.S.S.R. bodybuilders to participate at the International contest in Warszawa in 1979. In those times nobody could move through Socialist countries without invitation. Only then Ministries of Foregn Affairs of definite countries used to give permittion to visit another Socialist country. In 1978 in Czechoslovakian SSR DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS met the President of the National Bodybuilding Federation VOJTECH FIALA (ВойтехФиала). They spoke about the details of the coming 1979 common event. Both agreed that DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS with the U.S.S.R. bodybuilders will come to the 1979 Czechoslovakia National Championship in Ostrava. At the same time there will be organized the competition „Czechoslovakia – U.S.S.R.“ («Чехословакия – С.С.С.Р.»). DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was presented invitations for the folowing U.S.S.R. bodybuilders: Lithuanians EUGENE GORELIK (Евгений Горелик), SAULIUS MISEVICHUS (Саулюс Мисявичус), ALBERTAS BESAKIRSKAS (Альбертас Бесакирскас) and Estonian OLEV ANNUS (Олев Аннус). Also DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS included to the U.S.S.R. delegation the Chairman of the „Vilnius Bodybuilding School“ CESLAV TAMULEVICH (руководитель «Вильнюсской школы культуризма» Чеслав Тамулевич). After 1973 the U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation («ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.») was closed. The Secretary of the formal U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS (РоманасКалинацскас) still kept contacts with Moscow. When he learned about the coming event in Czechoslovakia and when he learned that he is not included to the delegation, he started writing letters to the communist power institutions. ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS wanted to ruin the 1979 coming contest „Czechoslovakia – U.S.S.R.“ and he did it. The contest was canceled. The invitations for the U.S.S.R. bodybuilders still are kept in the archieves of the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation). Then DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS gave his invitation to 1979 International contest in Warszawa to his friend INNAR MARDO (ИннарМардо, 1946 – 2002). Due to this invitation in 1979 INNAR MARDO went to Poland with OLEV ANNUS. OLEV ANNUS won his category and the Over All Winner‘s title. There INNAR MARDO met organizers of various Socialist countries and they invited the U.S.S.R. bodybuilders to participate at their contests. This was in 1979 that INNAR MARDO and Estonian INDREK OTSUS (ИндрекОтсус) participated at the „Trener“ contest in Czechoslovakian SSR. INDREK OTSUS was the Over All Winner and he won in his category against the 1975 I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) Europe Champion PETER STACH (ПетерСтах). At the same 1979 INNAR MARDO with OLEV ANNUS and INDREK OTSUS participated at the International contest „Spartacus Cup“ in Budapest (Hungarian SSR). Both Estonia SSR bodybuilders won their categories. INDREK OTSUS won against the famous ANTON HOLIC (АнтонХолич) and OLEV ANNUS won against PETER URICEK (ПетерУричек) who were top bodybuilders of the Czechoslovakian SSR at that time. In 1979 after the conflict with INNAR MARDO OLEV ANNUS started writing bad letters about him to the political institutions of the Estonian SSR. The conflict was influenced by the ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS nad other Bodybuilding Organizers of Lithuanian SSR who hated the International results achieved by INNAR MARDO. ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS was among the enemies of INNAR MARDO. Lithuanians pressed OLEV ANNUS to replace INNAR MARDO in Estonian SSR. After the participation at the 1979 „Trener“ competition the Estonian political powers closed the gym of INNAR MARDO. The similar process was in the Lithuanian SSR too. Lithuanian bodybuilding organizers hated DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. It was because DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS got so great results due to his petition. Also due to successfull 1978 „Amber Prix International“ which brougt a total attention of the U.S.S.R. bodybuilders. When support to defend bodybuilding sport was needed no one of the U.S.S.R. bodybuilders was together with DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. No one of them supported him in his fight to defend bodybuilding sport. Due to the conflicts in 1979 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS lost his „Gintaras“ gym too. It was closed. About twenty high level bodybuilders left the contest stage for all times. No one wanted to support ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS group. The Lithuanians led by ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS prohibited for a pupil of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS at that time the best Klaipeda bodybuilder ALBERTAS REMEIKA (АльбертасРемейка) to participate at the 1979 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («МемориалГеоргаТенно», 1971 – 1989). Ther reason was that ALBERTAS REMEIKA was a pupil of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Nothing more. This bodybuilder successfully participated at the competition in Kaunas (Lithuanian SSR) in 1979. Then he had imperssive huge muscles and weight over 120 kilograms. The specialists spoke about the nioce future of ALBERTAS REMEIKA. This way due to the intriques and conflicts no one of bodybuilders of the Lithuanian SSR could participate at the International contests in the Socialist countries in 1979. This way INNAR MARDO participated at the International contests only with bodybuilders of the Estonian SSR. All other bodybuilders of the U.S.S.R. were left behind. WHO IN U.S.S.R. COULD THINK ON INTERNATIONAL LEVEL? ROLE OF PERSONALITY IN LIFE AND SPORT. Everyone‘s personality depends on many items. One of them is – basing on which position a personality analizes all happenings. We mean bodybuilders, of course. Do you think of this as a sportsman, as a trainer or organizer or you think as an International Leader? Specialists of our sport scrutinize the same documents and the same basics but everybody of them evaluate the same items on a different way. Then we may look if this specialist is of a local level or he represents the International one. The specialist must get himself above the happenings of his time and he must look on everything like a flying bird high in the sky. Otherwise he can not understand waht is going on. In the U.S.S.R. there were only few personalities who could think wide in the very beginning of bodybuilding. The representatives of various regions of the U.S.S.R. mostly were thinking in a narrow way. For example, Tiumen gym trainer JEVGENIJ KOLTUN (ЕвгенийКолтун, R.S.F.S.R.) always represented a gym level and nothing more. The same was with a Kaliningrad trainer JURIJ SMILIAKOV (ЮрийСмоляков, R.S.F.S.R.) and with a Severodvinsk trainer the U.S.S.R. Champion ALEKSANDR LEMECHOV (АлександрЛемехов, R.S.F.S.R.). The same was with a Leningrad gym trainer VLADIMIR DUBININ (ВладимирДубинин, R.S.F.S.R.). A representative of Riga (Latvian SSR) FELIKS SAJKOVSKIJ (ФеликсСайковский) and nearly all representatives of the Lithuanian SSR were on the same local level of understanding. There were no more active bodybuilding organizers in the U.S.S.R. at that time but only those we mentioned only. The exception could be the General Secretary of the formal „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.») ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS (РоманасКалинаускас). How we can understand this „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ when bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. is prohibited? It had totally no power. But unfortunatelly all activities of ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS were done through intrigues and blackmailing of his sport friends to the Communist political powers. Knowing no foreign languages ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS was separated from the World and could not understand the International process. Another exceptional person was INNAR MARDO (ИннарМардо, 1946 – 2002, Tallinn, Estonian SSR). He also did not know any foreign language and worked only in Estonia. Even to do anything on the U.S.S.R. level he had no interest. But on regular basis organized by INNAR MARDO „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («МемориалГеоргаТенно», 1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estonian SSR) contests gave him a huge prestige and respect of others. One more exception was DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. During the period of bodybuilding prohibition he organized illegal „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023, Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR) contests in 1974, 1975, 1976 and in 1977. Wishing to defend bodybuilding sport DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS for several years was in correspondence with the Ministry of Sport of the U.S.S.R. („U.S.S.R. Goskomsport“,ГоскомспортС.С.С.Р.). Finally received from the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport a negatyve answer DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS wrote a bodybuilding defending petition and personally brought it to Moscow. He presented the petition to the highest U.S.S.R. political powers: to the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist Party (Центральный Комитет Коммунистической партии С.С.С.Р.), to the U.S.S.R. Supreme Council (Верховный Совет С.С.С.Р.) and to the U.S.S.R. Ministry Council (Совет Министров С.С.С.Р.) and to the U.S.S.R. cental political newspapers „Pravda“ («Правда») and „Izvestija“ («Известия»). In 1978 due to the petition of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS the U.S.S.R. political powers gave him permition to organize „Amber Prix International“ in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR). Leaders do not like a stable life. A Leader of any kind has courage and resposibility. Leaders always seek the result end never doubt if they will not succeed. At the same time the majority does nothing. They sit in silence. So who was the bodybuilding Leader in the U.S.S.R.? The very similar to DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS life was of his friends in sport: the President I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) BEN WEIDER, also the similar way of life was of the President N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) OSCAR HEIDENSTAM and W.A.B.B.A. (World Amateur Body Building Association) President SERGE NUBRET. The same similar way was of the General Secretary F.I.H.C. (Federation Internationale Halterophile et Culturiste) International OSCAR STATE. Not knowing foreign languages narrowed possibilities of INNAR MARDO, but DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS assisted and helped him always. ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS did not know any foreign language and he always worked to be close to the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport. To say more he did his best to be close to the U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation (ФедерациятяжёлойатлетикиС.С.С.Р.). That were his top items for respect and loyality. But what he could get out of this when bodybuilding was prohibited in the U.S.S.R.? Just nothing. While studying English and German philology at the Vilnius State University DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS did several attempts to unite gyms of Vilnius City. Nobody else never tried to do this. Anyway bodybuilding was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and bodybuilders were afraid to do anything. It is easy to speak when the work is done and everything goes smoothly. But at the moment to fight agaist bodybuilding prohibition no one supported DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. No one. Today being already old many former U.S.S.R. bodybuilding organizers and bodybuilders try to „be Facebook friends“ of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Fine. But where they were at the hard times of risky fighting? During the fifty years of his bodybuilding activities there was a number of „deputies“ and assistants of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Many wanted to take the place of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and to go on doing the same. No one succeeded. Many disliked the stormy activities of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Especially when he succeeded in his work. And he did. Having no wish to get into the intrigues of such people DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS got into the Vilnius State University in 1979 again. This time DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS studied law after he received the speciality of the phylology before. And again he succeeded. The same happened with INNAR MARDO. He was pressed by the people of envy and hate to leave his work and positions after the intriques in the formal Bodybuilding Federattion of the Estonian SSR. INNAR MARDO did not succeed to come back in full power again. There were several attemps but he was never back to the former normal situation. Hate and envy of his bodybuilding collegues ruined his life in sport. This information is based on the letters of INNAR MARDO to DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Klaipeda bodybuilding was always a „Separate Republic“. And still is. It was in Lithuania, in the U.S.S.R. and Internationally now. It was based on the social and juridical status, on the International level - remember the World Bodybuilding Leaders whom we have mentioned above. International President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS is involved in the work of a number of International organizations which are collaborating with U.N. (United Nations) and U.N.S.E.C.O. (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).Who else was in the same position? The road was long. Much work and studies were needed. In 2011 the Official Visit of the President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) International DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was organized to Vatican. Listening about the Bodybuilding activities during the years of prohibition of this sport in the Socialist Countries the Vatican Congregat Perfect Cardinal J. Em. JOZEF KARDINAL TOMKO (КардиналИозефТомко) was interested very much. Very big interest was shown to the bodybuilding defending petition of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and the victory that was achieved due to this. J. Em. JOZEF KARDINAL TOMKO positively evaluated our efforts to fight for the Bodybuilding Sport recognition and at once he named DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS as the „disident of the Communist Regime“. For this work done the Vatican Congregat Perfect Cardinal J. Em. JOZEF KARDINAL TOMKO presented the Original Vatican Pontific Medal (Medaglia Ufficiale di Pontificato di Sua Santita Benedetto XVI) to the International President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. Federation EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS (Headquarters State Vatican, Cita del Vaticano, March 29, 2011). During the last decades DSc. What was going on in the U.S.S.R. at the background of the 1979 „Amber Prix International“?
ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS always was seeking career. In sport too. There is nothing bad about this, but he did it in awful ways. ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS was cheating his friends in sport, he did false votings and he blackmailed his friends against the political powers of the U.S.S.R.. Also he did bad things for those whom he did not like in bodybuilding.
Since 1973 bodybuilding was prohibited in the U.S.S.R.. Fighting against this DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS received a a letter with negatyve answer from the U.S.S.R. Minister of Sport. Having no support of bodybuilding friends through his petition to defend prohibited bodybuilding sport DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS reached the Victory. It was unexpected for everybody. It was unexpected for DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS too.
Many those who were afraid to fight against bodybuilding prohibition became active when DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS on his own risk organized successful 1978 “Amber Prix International”. After 1973 it was the first official bodybuilding contest that was done in public in the U.S.S.R.. Petition of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was presented in Moscow for the highest U.S.S.R. political powers and it opened doors for bodybuilding contests. Since 1978 “Amber Prix International” was the regular unofficial “U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship” („неофициальныйЧемпионатС.С.С.Р. покультуризму»).
Before the voyage of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to Moscow ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS was against his petition. He was afraid. ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS explained, that “all DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS does is on his own risk. This way he will not risk his membership in the Communist Party. When bodybuilding was prohibited in 1973 the “U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation” stopped it’s work and all five it’s Chairmen left bodybuilding. Basing on the DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS received political permit to organize “Amber Prix International” in Klaipeda ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS wanted the refresh the forgotten “U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation”. It was absurd. The bodybuilding sport was prohibited and someone at the same time wants to set the International Bodybuilding Federation in the U.S.S.R..
DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was alone when everybody refused to support him in writing the petition to defend bodybuilding and to bring it to Moscow. But the achieved victory of the petition opened doors for everybody to develop bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R..
ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS. ON TOP AT ANY COST.
ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS wanted to rule the U.S.S.R. bodybuilding. After the success of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS he addressed the former Chairman of the 1968 “U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation” and a known R.S.F.S.R. weightlifter ROMAN MOROZ (РоманМороз). ROMAN MOROZ was working at the “U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation” at that time. Telling him about the 1978 “Amber Prix International” ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS suggested to refresh the old “U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation”. It seemed unreal as on December, 1977 the U.S.S.R. Minister of Sport issued a new order to make the prosecution of bodybuilding more strict. Anyway the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport through ROMAN MOROZ wanted to control the illegal bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. and he agreed. Both decided that the Chairman of the federation representing Moscow political power will be ROMAN MOROZ and the secretary will be ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS. In order not to be alone they included several statistic persons too. Though ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS already started prosecuting INNAR MARDO he was also included to the member’s list. Formally this organization was a part of the “U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation”. As weightlifters were not interested in bodybuilding in fact ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS was ruling the federation alone.
Wishing to be “A hero” in front of Moscow ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS invited several medium level U.S.S.R. weightlifting officials to the 1979 “Amber Prix International” in Klaipeda. It was a humor as ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS had nothing to do with “Amber Prix International” ever. Having guests of the “U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation” the 1979 “Amber Prix” was of two parts – power exercises and evaluation of the body. Everything according the old F.I.H.C. traditions. Without power exercises weightlifting guests of Moscow had nothing common with bodybuilding.
From Moscow to Klaipeda arrived the medium level official of the “U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation” JURIJ SANDALOV (ЮрийСандалов) and the Chairman of the 1963, 1968 and now of the 1979 “U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation” ROMAN MOROZ (РоманМороз). We want to underline that since 1978 the “Amber Prix International” was the “unofficial U.S.S.R. bodybuilding Championship”. So the level was very high.
Wishing to please the guests of Moscow ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS collected money from bodybuilders and bought for them Lithuanian televisions “Shilelis” («Шилялис»). It was difficult to get these televisions in the U.S.S.R. at those times. It is hard to say what was in mind of ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS. From Moscow to Klaipeda came only representatives of the “U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation” and they were not top officers. Bodybuilding was still prohibited in the U.S.S.R.. Even the Ministry of Sport could do nothing as the decision to prohibit bodybuilding came from the highest political powers of the U.S.S.R.. But ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS was satisfied by the position of the secretary of the formal federation. This was enough for him then. The federation went on doing nothing real. By the way later ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS went on presenting televisions to Moscow weightlifting officials again and again.

1980. „AMBER PRIX INTERNATIONAL“. WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN SOCIALIST WORLD? In 1980 bodybuilding still was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and Socialist Countries. When in 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS wrote the petition to defend prohibited bodybuilding, he personally brought it to Moscow and presented to the highest U.S.S.R. political powers. The achieved victory let start public competitions in Klaipeda (Lithusnian SSR). Until this contests were illegal and without public. The first official bosybuilding contest was the 1978 „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023) which was organized by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Since 1978 the „Amber Prix International“ got the status of the „Unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ («НеофициальныйчемпионатС.С.С.Р. покультуризму»). In 1980 three International bodybuilding contests were organized in the U.S.S.R. and all of the were held in the Lithuanian SSR. One of them was the „Amber Prix International“ which was held in the Palace of Culture of the City Klaipeda. The organizers did not expect so big crowd of spectators. So the doors of the palace were broken by entering crowd at the very beginning. The second contest was held in Kaunas and that was the „Comsomol Cup“ („Komjaunimo taurė“, «Кубоккомсомола»). The Category Winners were STANISLAV POLIAKOV (Станислав Поляков, Latvian SSR) and Lithuanians VLADAS KAPCEVICIUS, SAULIUS MISEVICIUS ir EUGENE ZURCEV (Евгений Журцев). The Over All Winner was VLADAS KAPCEVICIUS. One more contest was organized in Vilnius. That was the competition „Lithuanian SSR versus Hungarian SSR“. Hungarians did not come with strong bodybuildiers and all first places went to the Lithuanians: EUGENE GORELIK (ЕвгенийГорелик), VLADAS KAPCEVICIUS, SAULIUS MISEVICIUS and EUGENE ZURCEV. In 1980 the traditional „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («МемориалГеоргаТенно», 1971 - 1989) was not organized in the Estonian SSR. When in 1979 INNAR MARDO (ИннарМардо, 1946 – 2002) and best U.S.S.R. bodybuilder of that time Estonian OLEV ANNUS returned from competition in Czechoslovakian SSR they guarreled in between. Letters of INNAR MARDO to DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS say that OLEV ANNUS wrote bad letters about INNAR MARDO to political powers of the Estonian SSR. Due to this INNAR MARDO lost his gym and his position of the President of the National Bodybuilding Federation of the Estonian SSR. Also the Communist powers of the Estonian SSR prohibited 1980 „Georg Tenno Momorial“. The leadership of bodybuilding in the Estonian SSR took OLEV ANNUS and brothers ARRO. INNAR AMARDO as well as DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS did not stop bodybuilding activities due to the conflicts. Both went on working on their own. In 1980 separatly from the National Bodybuilding Federation of the Estonian SSR INNAR MARDO and INDREK OTSUS went to „Trener“ contest in the Czechoslovakian SSR. After seeing a post from Nabba India incorporating myself in a joint NABBA/WFF (Lancefield) promotion and other posts with fabricated history on! It was necessary to post the following to show NABBAs stance with the WFF!
It was discussed at the NABBA Universe congress that NABBA has never had any affiliation with WFF (Lancefield).
NABBA is a lone non profit making amateur organisation,with democracy and a committee that decides any change democratically, we make decisions as a committee and an amalgamation of the two organisations was never voted on or approved. Nabba has always stood alone.
The WFF (Lancefield) and it’s fake fabricated history of 1968,was set up to organise fitness classes it has no democratic committee, their decisions are made by its President The organisation was set up by Klaus Hoffman and Edmundas Daubaras, in 1995 and not 1968 which is the fake history seen on Wikipedia without any history, it is actually stolen without permission from its organiser Edmundas Daubaras, a competition called the Amber Prix which dates back to 1968 and belongs to Edmundas! Not WFFs history?
Eventually Edmundas and Klause parted ways and if you are bothered to research it, there’s now two WFF federations,neither of which supports the other, one belonging to Edmundas,the other to Graeme Lancefield, who eventually took over from Klaus Hoffman in 2013. Graeme used his NABBA status to influence and join all NABBA countries to WFF (Lancefield) and eventually without democracy joined it to the Nabba name , no votes were ever taken.and I have the evidence of the true history if anyone cares to see it ! When the reigns of the Nabba Presidency were handed to me, It was my duty to the members to be loyal to Nabba and assist its members to do my best for its future and remain one of the best, certainly the most historic,authentic and oldest bodybuilding federation in the world!
Without prejudice and from what I see and now know about the WFF (Lancefield), I rightly started asking questions, about the authenticity of the WF F(Lancefield) and its 1968 history! Nabba is transparent and does not fabricate, invent,make up lies or dictate to its members, we do not support the way in which the WFF (Lancefield) is managed! We at the original NABBA are all in agreement and we have asked for all Nabba countries to remove the Nabba name and logo from any WFF promotion! So please do not use my photo alongside any WFF (Lancefield) promotions and please respect our decision to stand alone!
We have no problem in countries wanting to stay affiliated to both federations, but it has to be done separately.

WHO IN U.S.S.R. COULD THINK ON INTERNATIONAL LEVEL? ROLE OF PERSONALITY IN LIFE AND SPORT. Everyone‘s personality depends on many items. One of them is – basing on which position a personality analizes all happenings. We mean bodybuilders, of course. Do you think of this as a sportsman, as a trainer or organizer or you think as an International Leader? Specialists of our sport scrutinize the same documents and the same basics but everybody of them evaluate the same items on a different way. Then we may look if this specialist is of a local level or he represents the International one. The specialist must get himself above the happenings of his time and he must look on everything like a flying bird high in the sky. Otherwise he can not understand waht is going on. In the U.S.S.R. there were only few personalities who could think wide in the very beginning of bodybuilding. The representatives of various regions of the U.S.S.R. mostly were thinking in a narrow way. For example, Tiumen gym trainer JEVGENIJ KOLTUN (ЕвгенийКолтун, R.S.F.S.R.) always represented a gym level and nothing more. The same was with a Kaliningrad trainer JURIJ SMOLIAKOV (ЮрийСмоляков, R.S.F.S.R.) and with a Severodvinsk trainer the U.S.S.R. Champion ALEKSANDR LEMECHOV (АлександрЛемехов, R.S.F.S.R.). The same was with a Leningrad gym trainer VLADIMIR DUBININ (ВладимирДубинин, R.S.F.S.R.). A representative of Riga (Latvian SSR) FELIKS SAJKOVSKIJ (ФеликсСайковский) and nearly all representatives of the Lithuanian SSR were on the same local level of understanding. There were no more active bodybuilding organizers in the U.S.S.R. at that time but only those we mentioned only. The exception could be the General Secretary of the formal „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.») ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS (РоманасКалинаускас). How we can understand this „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ when bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. is prohibited? It had totally no power. But unfortunatelly all activities of ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS were done through intrigues and blackmailing of his sport friends to the Communist political powers. Knowing no foreign languages ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS was separated from the World and could not understand the International process. Another exceptional person was INNAR MARDO (ИннарМардо, 1946 – 2002, Tallinn, Estonian SSR). He also did not know any foreign language and worked only in Estonia. Even to do anything on the U.S.S.R. level he had no interest. But on regular basis organized by INNAR MARDO „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («МемориалГеоргаТенно», 1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estonian SSR) contests gave him a huge prestige and respect of others. One more exception was DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. During the period of bodybuilding prohibition he organized illegal „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023, Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR) contests in 1974, 1975, 1976 and in 1977. Wishing to defend bodybuilding sport DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS for several years was in correspondence with the Ministry of Sport of the U.S.S.R. („U.S.S.R. Goskomsport“,ГоскомспортС.С.С.Р.). Finally received from the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport a negatyve answer DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS wrote a bodybuilding defending petition and personally brought it to Moscow. He presented the petition to the highest U.S.S.R. political powers: to the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist Party (Центральный Комитет Коммунистической партии С.С.С.Р.), to the U.S.S.R. Supreme Council (Верховный Совет С.С.С.Р.) and to the U.S.S.R. Ministry Council (Совет Министров С.С.С.Р.) and to the U.S.S.R. cental political newspapers „Pravda“ («Правда») and „Izvestija“ («Известия»). In 1978 due to the petition of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS the U.S.S.R. political powers gave him permition to organize „Amber Prix International“ in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR). Leaders do not like a stable life. So who was the bodybuilding Leader in the U.S.S.R.? The very similar to DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS life was of his friends in sport: the President I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) BEN WEIDER, also the similar way of life was of the President N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) OSCAR HEIDENSTAM and W.A.B.B.A. (World Amateur Body Building Association) President SERGE NUBRET. The same similar way was of the General Secretary F.I.H.C. (Federation Internationale Halterophile et Culturiste) International OSCAR STATE. Not knowing foreign languages narrowed possibilities of INNAR MARDO, but DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS assisted and helped him always. Nobody else never tried to do this. Anyway bodybuilding was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and bodybuilders were afraid to do anything. It is easy to speak when the work is done and everything goes smoothly. But at the moment to fight agaist bodybuilding prohibition no one supported DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. No one. Today being already old many former U.S.S.R. bodybuilding organizers and bodybuilders try to „be Facebook friends“ of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Fine. But where they were at the hard times of risky fighting? During the fifty years of his bodybuilding activities there was a number of „deputies“ and assistants of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Many wanted to take the place of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and to go on doing the same. No one succeeded. Many disliked the stormy activities of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY. 1981. SOCIALIST WORLD BODYBUILDING NEWS. In 1981 bodybuilding was still prohibited in the Socialist countries. Political powers controlled illegal bodybuilding through the formal „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («Федерация культуризма С.С.С.Р.») which was reset at the „U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation“ («Федерация тяжёлой атлетики С.С.С.Р.») in 1979. That was based on the old F.I.H.C. (F.H.C., „Federation Internationale Halterophile”) federation traditions. The year of 1981 started with the traditional „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023) contest in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR). Since 1978 this contest was accepted as the „Unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ («неофициальный Чемпионат С.С.С.Р. по культуризму»). We should underline that the possibility of the public competitions in the U.S.S.R. was got only after the victorial visit of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to Moscow. Then he wrote and personally brought the bodybuilding defending petition to the highest U.S.S.R. political powers in Moscow and received permittion to organize bodybuilding contests. The category winners of the 1981 „Amber Prix International“ were EUGENE GORELIK (ЕвгенийГорелик, Lithuanian SSR), INDREK OTSUS (Estonian SSR), SAULIUS MISEVICIUS (Lithuanian SSR) and OLEV ANNUS (Estonian SSR). The Over All Winner was SAULIUS MISEVICIUS. There were two teams of the Estonian SSR at the competition. One was of the National Bodybuilding Federation of the Estonian SSR led by OLEV ANNUS and brothers ARRO. Another one was of INNAR MARDO. Before the contest the Secretary of the formal „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS instructed the International Judges not to alow OLEV ANNUS to win the Over All Champion‘s title again. The „U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation“ knew that OLEV ANNUS plans to emigrante from the U.S.S.R. to Finland. That was a terrible action of him against the Communist regime. How the Over All U.S.S.R. bodybuilding champion can do this? So OLEV ANNUS lost the title. The head Judge of the 1981 „Amber Prix International“ was a friend of OLEV ANNUS. Several days after the competition he canceled the results of „Amber Prix International“ and in official letter asked the Chairman of the formal „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ ROMAN MOROZ (РоманМороз) to aprove his decission. ROMAN MOROZ was against the decission and the results of the contest remained unchanged. At the saame time OLEV ANNUS wrote letters to the Socialist press saying about bad judging and explaining that the results of the 1981 „Amber Prix International“ were canceled. We have no information about 1981 intriques in the National Bodybuilding Federation of the Estonian SSR. In 1979 after the quarell OLEV ANNUS and brothers ARRO overturned INNAR MARDO (ИннарМардо, 1946 – 2002) and took the leadership in the federation. Then ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS was supporting the replacing of INNAR MARDO. INNAR MARDO popularity among U.S.S.R. bodybuilders and the results he achieved at the contests in the Socuialist countries made mad ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS. In 1981 the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («МемориалГеоргаТенно», 1971 - 1989) was organized in „Tallinn Olympic Pirita Centre“ (Талинский олимпийский центр Пирита») by INNAR MARDO without the National Bodybuilding Federation of the Estonian SSR. At that time the director of this centre was Lithuanian PRANAS MICKEVICIUS. In 1981 the above mentioned PRANAS MICKEVICIUS overturned OLEV ANNUS and brothers ARRO and took the leadership in the National Bodybuilding Federation of the Estonian SSR. In 1981 a meeting of the formal „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («Всесоюзная комиссия атлетической гимнастики») was held in Moscow (R.S.F.S.R.). Bodybuilding was still prohibited but a number of public competitions were held in Lithuanian SSR and in the Estonian SSR. Those contests were organized with the political background. For example it was the „Comsomol Cup“ („Komjaunimo taurė», «Кубоккомсомола») in Kaunas (Lithuanian SSR). As the activities of the „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ were only formal, it was rulled by the Chairman and former R.S.F.S.R. weightlifter ROMAN MOROZ and secretary ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS. As ROMAN MOROZ was fare away from bodybuilding sport in fact the real Chairman was ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS. The meeting in Moscow made no important decisions. Only several statistic persons were changed. Among new statistic persons was one of the U.S.S.R. bodybuilding pioneers weightlifter GENADIJ BALDIN (Геннадий Балдин). ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS was inviting DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to join his work. The above mentioned meeting spoke about OLEV ANNUS letters to the Socialist Sport Press and accused him about this. The „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ prohibited OLEV ANNUS to participate at any U.S.S.R. bodybuilding competitions.

GLIMPSES OF THE BODYBUILDING HISTORY. HOW IT WAS IN REAL. In 1959 the USA „Father of Weightlifting“ BOB HOFFMAN through the International Weightlifting Federation F.I.H.C. first time brought bodybuilding sport to the Socialist Countries. That was the World Weightlifting Championship in Warszawa - the Capital of the Polish Democratic Republic. Then F.I.H.C. organized the traditional bodybuilding „Mr. Universe“ in Warszawa too. 1963. FIRST SOCIALIST INTERNATIONAL BODYBUILDING ORGANIZATION. They say, that in the sixties of the last Century the bodybuilding pioneers in the U.S.S.R. were Estonian GEORG TENNO (ГеоргТенно) and Russian ROMAN MOROZ (РоманМороз). In 1963 under the influence of BOB HOFFMAN the first International Bodybuilding Organization in the Socialist Countries (Всесоюзная комиссия по атлетической гимнастике) was established by the Ministry of Sport U.S.S.R. (Goskomsport U.S.S.R.). It was set at the U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation then. To control the bodybuilding sport the Ministry appointed the Chairman of this organization. That was a friend of BOB HOFFMAN a known U.S.S.R. weightlifting authority ROMAN MOROZ. The mentioned organization did not work as there were no real bodybuilders in the U.S.S.R. at that time. It was nothing special when a bodybuilding organization was established at the weightlifting federation of any country. International Weightlifting Federation F.I.H.C. since 1947 ruled the official World Bodybuilding sport. The F.I.H.C. and the A.A.U. were members of the International Olympic Committee. In fact using the positions in F.I.H.C. and A.A.U. the official World and U.S.A. bodybuilding sport was ruled by BOB HOFFMAN. Until 1969 no one could fight with BOB HOFFMAN when he had the I.O.C. members F.I.H.C. and A.A.U. behind. Later in 1968 the mentioned International Bodybuilding Organization of the Socialist Countries was renewed. It happened during an International Contest in Lithuania. Five members of the Executive Council ruled the Organization: Russians ROMAN MOROZ, VLADIMIR PETROV, GENADIJ BALDIN and Lithuanians VALERIJ KORESHKOV and VYTAUTAS ZUMERIS (Роман Мороз, Владимир Петров, Геннадий Балдин, Валерий Корешков, Витаутас Зумерис). 1966. FIRST SOCIALIST INTERNATIONAL CONTEST. First pioneers of bodybuilding in Russia were weightlifters MARK SHAFRAN (Марк Шафран), ROMAN MOROZ (Роман Мороз), the first in the Socialist Countries World Weightlifting Champion GRIGORIJ NOVAK (Григорий Новак), Estonian GEORG TENNO and GENNADIJ BALDIN (Геннадий Балдин). In 1966 a bodybuilding contest was organized in Moscow (Russia) where the winner was IGOR PETRUCHIN (Игорь Петрухин). Also in 1966 the first in the Socialist Countries International Bodybuilding competition was organized in Vilnius (Lithuania). The Winners were IGOR PETRUCHIN (Russia), RYTIS MACIJAUSKAS and KLEMENSAS ALSHAUSKAS (both Lithuania). TRADITIONAL BODYBUILDING CONTESTS. During the bodybuilding prohibition in the Socialist World (1973 – 1987) only few brave persons dared to organize competitions. There were only two regular International Bodybuilding Contests in all Socialist World: the „Amber Prix International“ (1968 – 2021, „Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз») organized in Lithuania by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and „Georg Tenno Memorial“ (1971 – 1989, «МемориалГеоргаТэнно») organized in Estonia by INNAR MARDO. „Amber Prix International“ since 1978 until 1988 was unofficial „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“(«неофициальный «чемпионат С.С.С.Р. по культуризму»).. PROHIBITION OF BODYBUILDING. In 1973 the prosecution and prohibition of bodybuilding started in the Socialist World. 1982. SOCIALIST WORLD BODYBUILDING NEWS. Bodybuilding sport was still prohibited but bodybuilders of the Socialist countries felt comming „perestrojka“. The year of 1982 traditionally started in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR) with „Amber Prix International‘ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023). We would like to underline that since 1978 „Amber Prix International“ was the „unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ («неофициальный чемпионат С.С.С.Р. по культуризму»). Best U.S.S.R. bodybuilders participated at thie event. It became possible after when in 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS (Др. ЭдмундасДаубарас) wrote bodybuilding defending petition and personally brought it to the highest U.S.S.R. political Institutions in Moscow (read about this in various languages in details in our articles at the www.wff.lt). Bodybuilders of six countries took part at the 1982 „Amber Prix International“. The Over All Winners were RICARDAS PETRAUSKAS (Juniors) and EUGENE GORELIK (ЕвгенийГорелик, Main Categories). Both from the Lithuanian SSR. In 1982 bodybuilding organizers of the Estonian SSR still were fighting in between. Brothers ARRO left our sport, OLEV ANNUS emigrated to Finland. Though the Chairman of the National Bodybuilding Federation of the Estonian SSR was PRANAS MICKEVICIUS but bodybuilders supported INNAR MARDO (Иннар Мардо, 1946 – 2002). There were two teams of the Estonian SSR at the 1982 „Amber Prix International“. One was of PRANAS MICKEVICIUS and another of INNAR MARDO. Traditional 1982 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («МемориалГеоргаТенно», 1971 – 1989) in Tallinn (Estonian SSR) was not the best. Only 31 bodybuilders participated at the competition. The Over All Winners were Lithuanians RAIMONDAS PETRAITIS (Juniors) and SAULIUS MISEVICIUS (Main Categories). 1982 „Comsomok Cup“ («Кубоккомсомола», „Komjaunimo taurė“) was organized in Kaunas (Lithuanian SSR). Junior Category Winners were Lithuanians RAIMONDAS PETRAITIS, SAULIUS MIKUCKIS, EDMUNDAS GUDAVICIUS, Main Category Winners were STANISLAV POLIAKOV (СтаниславПоляков, Latvian SSR) and Lithuanians ALGIRDAS IVANAUSKAS, SAULIUS MISEVICIUS, ALBERTAS BESAKIRSKAS. Two teams of the Estonian SSR went to 1982 „Trener“ contest in the Czechoslovakian SSR. One was led by PRANAS MICKEVICIUS and another by INNAR MARDO. First time bodybuilders of the Lithuanian SSR took part at this competition. The Category Winners were Lithuanians EUGENE GORELIK, VLADAS KAPCEVICIUS, SAULIUS MISEVICIUS and LUBOMIR MATEJICKA from the Czechoslovakian SSR. The Over All Winner was SAULIUS MISEVICIUS. In 1982 a representative of the U.S.S.R. first time visite I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) World Championship. It was held in Belgium. That was secretary of the „Unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“(«неофициальная «ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.») ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS. For this he had to fool the U.S.S.R. officials. ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS managed to get into a cruise ship to Europe Countries. This way he reached Belgium and attended the World Championship. The time of cruise and championship was the same. As told by ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS the organizers met him warmly. But knowing no foreign languages he could make pictures with I.F.B.B. President BEN WEIDER nad ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER. Nothing more. But after meeting represntatives of Czechoslovakia SSR ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS communicated with then in Russian free. When competition ended ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS received zero attention and was left alone. Then at the 1982 I.F.B.B. World Championship winners were: USA bodybuilders JAMES GAUBERT, DALE RUPLINGER, LEE HANEY and Turkish AHMET ENUNLU. In 1989 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS clearly understood that ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS does not understand any foreign language. During active correspondance and a number of personal meetings with BEN WEIDER DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS bacame a real friend of him. In 1989 as a friend BEN WEIDER invited DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to Paris (France). The 1989 I.F.B.B. World Championships were held in Paris at that time. DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS took ROMANAS KALINAUSTAS together. During a number of long lasting discussions DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and BEN WEIDER learned about the total unintelligence of ROMANAS KALUNAUSKAS in knowing languages. He totally was not understanding about what both friend were talking. It was extremelly dificult to go to Capitalist countries at the Socialist times. For an ordinary people it was impossible. During the eight and nineth decades of the last century of all Socialist countries only a bodybuilding trainer LUDEK NOSEK (Marianske Lazne, Czechoslovakian SSR) had a privilege to travel to Capitalist countries constantly. For many years he was the organizer of the „Sandow“ contest. Wife of LUDEK NOSEK was working as a stewardess on International flights of the airlines of the Czechoslovakian SSR. Her work permitted to go to any of the World countries with her husbund once a year. This way representing National Bodybuilding Federation of the Czechoslovakian SSR LUDEK NOSEK was present at many I.F.B.B. World Championships that were held in various Capitalist countries. 2023. WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY. HIGHEST INTERNATIONAL BODYBUILDING ADVISORY COUNCIL. 56 years working W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) International is directly connected with the „Amber Prix International“ («Янтарный приз», „Gintarinia prizas“, 1968 - 2023) contest. „Amber Prix International“ is one of the World‘s oldest traditional historic competition still organized in the World. The value of the „Amber Prix International“ was alvays evident and always many known sport organizers of various Countries use to be present there. Through all history of the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. good relations of the International W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. President DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and the historic bodybuilding leaders of the all main traditional International Bodybuilding organizations were in the background. And that were the Owner and the President of International I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) BEN WEIDER, the President of N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) OSCAR HEIDENSTAM, the President of W.A.B.B.A. (World Amateur Body Building Association) International SERGE NUBRET. There were moments in the history of the World Bodybuilding when the International leaders connected DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS for friendly help and assistance. In 1970 at the I.F.B.B. Belgrade (Yugoslavia) International Congress SERGE NUBRET was appointed to the position of the I.F.B.B. Vice President. In 1976 SERGE NUBRET set another International organization of W.A.B.B.A. as he explains „to fight with the I.F.B.B.“. Then the conflict between BEN WEIDER and SERGE NUBRET reached the highest point in the Court. Then in 1985 SERGE NUBRET sent to DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS twenty pages of the confident I.F.B.B. documents asking to support him. That was very personal information about BEN WEIDER and we never published this anywhere. The I.F.B.B. International and the I.F.B.B. U.S.S.R. (established in 1987) as well always were suffering of inside intriques and conflicts. First let us remember the famous weightlifting Olympic Champion JURIJ VLASOV (ЮрийВласов) and how badly he was treated when he was elected to the position of the President of the U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation. In 1991 President of the U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation VASILIJ CHAIKOVSKI (Василий Чайковский) was removed from his position by VLADIMIR DUBININ (Владимир Дубинин). Feeling frustrated of this unfair action VASILIJ CHAIKOVSKIJ imediatelly came to Lithuania. He was looking for support of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS in his relations with BEN WEIDER. Fifteen years ago understanding that International Bodybuilding Sport is in awful situation WEIDER brothers JOE and BEN sold their magazines and „Olympia“ Contest and got rid of the I.F.B.B.. After this WAYNE DE MILIA was dismissed from the position of the Director of the I.F.B.B. Professional League. Until that he run this position for many years. Then in 2006 WAYNE DE MILIA established his own organization „Pro Division Inc.“ and addressed DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to support him. From that time we have heard nothing about „Pro Division Inc.“. Fighting in between in 2009 and in 2015 I.F.B.B. split two times. First I.F.B.B. was divided between assistant of BEN WEIDER Spanish RAFAEL SANTONJA and the I.F.B.B. Vice President PAUL CHUA from Singapore. At that moment PAUL CHUA was supported only by fifty Asia and Arab Countries. At that time they had idea even to join the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International. Then PAUL CHUA and Sheikh of UAE AL SHAFAR came to London (U.K.) to fight with RAFAEL SANTONJA in the Court. PAUL CHUA addressed DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to support him, but DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS could not come to London as there was European Championship in Lithuania at that time. Also PAUL CHUA and Sheikh AL SHAFAR could not come to Lithuania as they had no E.U. visas. The deal was closed. Some time later PAUL CHUA and the I.F.B.B. Lower ALEX BAUER (Austria) sent 600 pages of I.F.B.B. juridical and financial documents and asked to publish them. We did it as they asked. In 1991 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and German KLAUS P.J. HOFFMANN started a new International W.F.F. federation. Both were basing on the since 1968 still lasting history of „Amber Prix International“ and basing on various sport organizations that were connected with it. In 2014 KLAUS P.J. HOFFMANN closed his part of the W.F.F. federation. At the same time part of the W.F.F. International led by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS continued working. In 2005 it was transformed to W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International. Today W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. unites 140 countries that represent all Continents. Some years ago Australian GRAEME LANCEFIELD established his own W.F.F. federation. To feel important for the International sport GRAEME LANCEFIELD used the history of the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. as his own. Though he still does not know a single historical step of the real W.F.F.. The real W.F.F. International history started in 1968 in Lithuanian SSR. GRAEME LANCEFIELD started collecting N.A.B.B.A. athletes to his own contests using the N.A.B.B.A. name. N.A.B.B.A. leaders were angry about this. Then in 2018 the President of the N.A.B.B.A. U.S.A. and a famous I.F.B.B. professional bodybuilder EDDIE ROBINSON addressed DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to support N.A.B.B.A. in fighting against unfair behavior of GRAEME LANCEFIELD. After this GRAEME LANCEFIELD continued acting against N.A.B.B.A.. At the beginning of 2020 the President N.A.B.B.A. International and a famous U.K. Professional bodybuilder ED ELWOOD asked DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to support N.A.B.B.A. against GRAEME LANCEFIELD again. To help N.A.B.B.A. we wrote and published a thorough article about this. Different of other International Bodybuilding Organizations today W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. seeks huge aims to make bodybuilding recognized and respected. 2023. U.N.E.S.C.O. DELEGATES IN LIEPAJA. 28-TH EUROPE CHAMPIONSHIP. On October 1, 2023 the 28-th W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) International Europe Championship and traditional „Liepaja Classic“ were held in Liepaja, Republic of Latvia. A number of members of the U.N.E.S.C.O. (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) organization took part at the events. That were the 2023 U.N.E.S.C.O. „Ambassador of Peace“ («Посол Мира Ю.Н.Е.С.К.О. 2023 года»), the Rector of International Sport University (I.S.U., ректор Международного университета спорта), the International W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. President DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS; Journalist, U.N.E.S.C.O. Award Holder, U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Pioneer VALERIJ KORESKOV (Lithuania); famous bodybuilder, U.N.E.S.C.O. WORLD BODYBUILDING ENCYCLOPEDIA. 1983 SOCIALIST BODYBUILDING NEWS. In general there was nothing extraordinary in socialist bodybuilding in 1983. The bodybuilding sport was still prohibited but the prosecution was not so strong. It was important that in 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS wrote petition to defend bodybuilding when during the prohibition of bodybuilding everybody was afraid to do something. DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS personally brought the petition to Moscow and presented it to the U.S.S.R. highest political institutions including the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist party (Центральный Комитет К.П.С.С. С.С.С.Р.). Due to this the polititians permited to organize in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR) the „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023). 1978 „Amber Prix International“ was the first public competition after the prohibition. This contest for ten years became the „unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ («неофициальный чемпионат С.С.С.Р. по культуризму»). Best U.S.S.R. bodybuilders used to participate at the „Amber Prix International“ every year. Year by years bodybuilding contests were held in other places too. The winners of 1983 „Amber Prix International“ were Lithuanians ROLANDAS BUCINSKAS (Juniors) and VINCAS DUBICKAS (Main Categories). After „Amber Prix International“ another U.S.S.R. bodybuilding contest was „Georg Tenno Memorial“ (МемориалГеоргатенно», 1971 - 1989) held in Tallinn (Estonian SSR). The Over All Winners of the 1983 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ were ROLANDAS BUCINSKAS (Lithuania SSR) and ARKADI AJU (Estonian SSR). The secretary of the „unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («формальная федерация культуризма С.С.С.Р.») ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS went on with his intriques. He tried to prohibit ROMNDAS BUCINSKAS to particiapte at the 1983 „Georg Tenno Memorial“. Then DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS trough his friend INNAR MARDO (1946 – 2002 m., Иннар Мардо) ruined his plans and this way ROLANDAS BUCUNSKAS was among „Georg Tenno Memorial“ participants“. By the way, INNAR MARDO until his death was the President of the National Federation W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. Estonia. In Kaunas (Lithuanian SSR) still was organized „Comsomol Cup“ („Komjaunimo taurė“, «Кубоккомсомола»). Junior Winners were JURIJ POPOV (ЮрийПопов, R.S.F.S.R.), VIKTORAS JUCYS, RAIMONDAS KAZAKEVICIUS and the Winners of the Main Categories were STANISLAV PLOIAKOV (СтаниславПоляков, Latvian SSR), VINCAS DUBICKAS, SAULIUS MISEVICIUS, RAIMONDAS IVANAUSKAS. All of the Winners were from the Lithuanian SSR except JURIJ POPOV and STANISLAV POLIAKOV. First time after bodybuilding prohibition a contest was organized by VASILIJ BESPALENKO (ВасилийБеспаленко) in Lvov (Ukraine SSR). The Over All Winners were ARVYDAS JARUMBAUSKAS (Lithuanian SSR) and the mentioned above STANISLAV POLIAKOV. Only Estonian SSR presented the U.S.S.R. at the 1983 traditional „Trener“ contest in Czechoslovakian SSR. It was led by PRANAS MICKEVICIUS. Bodybuilders of the Estonian SSR did not support PRANAS MICKEVICIUS as the Estonians still were fighting in between. Bodybuilders were on the side of INNAR MARDO who was overturned by OLEV ANNUS in 1979. Having no athletes this way PRANAS MICKEVICIUS went to Czechoslovakia with SAULIUS MISEVICIUS (Lithuanian SSR). Of all Socialist countries only bodybuilders of the Czechoslovakian SSR had possibilities to go to the „Western“ Capitalist countries and participate at the I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) contests. Representatives of other Socialist countries could only dream of this. To go abroad everybody needed the official invitation accepted by the Ministries of Foreign affairs of their counttries. This was the „Amber Prix International“ and the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ had extremelly huge importance in the U.S.S.R.. Once the former Prime Minister of the Lithuanian Republic GEDIMINAS KIRKILAS said that Socialist bodybuilding was a kind of resistance to the Communist regime. By the way, GEDIMINAS KIRKILAS was the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 2004 W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) World Championship in Vilnius (Lithuanian Republic). We would like to remind that in 2011 the Official meeting of the President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was held in Vatican. Vatican Congregat Prefect Cardinal J. Em. JOZEF TOMKO speaking about the bodybuilding in the Socialist countries named our activities as „dissidental“ towards the Communist regime. Due to this Vatican Congregat Prefect Cardinal J. Em. JOZEF TOMKO awarded DSc. 2023 „U.N.E.S.C.O. AMBASSADOR OF PEACE“. U.N.E.S.C.O. DELEGATES IN LATVIAN LIEPAJA. In September, 2023 the Rector of the oldest Ukraine Lvov Stavropigeon University Professor DSc. JAROSLAV KMIT proposed International W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) federation President, Rector of the International Sport University (I.S.U.) DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to the respectful title the “2023 U.N.E.S.C.O. Ambassador of Peace”. U.N.E.S.C.O. (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) organization presented this title to DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. At the same time DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was awarded with the U.N.E.S.C.O. Medal and the Star. On October 1, 2023 the 28-th W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International Europe Championship and traditional „Liepaja Classic“ were held in Liepaja, Republic of Latvia. A number of members of the U.N.E.S.C.O. organization took part at the events. That were the above mentioned „2023 U.N.E.S.C.O. WORLD BODYBUILDING ENCYCLOPEDIA. 1984 SOCIALIST BODYBUILDING NEWS. In 1984 if we compare with 1983 bodybuilding in Socialist countries was really different. There were comparitivelly many contests in the U.S.S.R. as well as in other Socualist countries. We could say the Socialist polititians let bodybuilding live and the prohibition became only formal. But there were definite reasons for this. We would remind that in 1973 bodybuilding in Socialist Countries was prohibited and everyone was afraid to do something positive for bodybuilding. It was extremelly important that in 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS wrote petition to defend bodybuilding. DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS personally brought the petition to Moscow and presented it to the U.S.S.R. highest political institutions including the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist party (Центральный Комитет К.П.С.С. С.С.С.Р.). Due to this the polititians permited to organize in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR) traditional „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023). 1978 „Amber Prix International“ was the first public competition after the prohibition. This contest for ten years became the „unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ («неофициальный чемпионат С.С.С.Р. по культуризму»). Later U.S.S.R. Ministry of sport (МинистерствоспортаС.С.С.Р.) confirmed this and started to present for „Amber Prix International“ Champions titles of „U.S.S.R. Sport Master“ „МастерспортаС.С.С.Р.»). Best U.S.S.R. bodybuilders used to participate at the „Amber Prix International“ every year. Year by year bodybuilding contests were held in other places too. This way step by step other U.S.S.R. countries and places started pointing to their local polititions towards Klaipeda competitions and this way organizing public contests too. The winners of 1984 „Amber Prix International“ were Lithuanians VIKTORAS JUCYS (Juniors) and VINCAS DUBICKAS (Main Categories). Next by the importance after the „Amber Prix International“ was „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», Tallinn, Estonian SSR, 1971 – 1989). The Over All Winners of the 1984 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ were the Estonians BILYK VLADIMIR ((Владимир Билык), Juniors) and KOSENKO PAVEL (Павел Косенко), Main Categories). A few years in a row the „Comsomol Cup“ («Кубок комсомола», „Komjaunimo taurė“) was organized in Kaunas (Lithuanian SSR). Thirty bodybuilders from Latvian SSR, Estonian SSR, Lithuanian SSR, Ukrainian SSR and R.S.F.S.R. took part at the 1984 event. The Category Winners were: Juniors NAUDZIUS RIGARDAS (Lithuanian SSR), BILYK VLADIMIR, CHILCENKO JAKOV (Яков Хильченко, R.S.F.S.R.) and in the Main Categories POLIAKOV STANISLAV (Станислав Поляков, Latvian SSR), KAPCEVICIUS VLADAS (Lithuanian SSR), MASLOV OLEG (Олег Маслов, R.S.F.S.R.), AJU ARKADIJ (Аркадий Аю, Estonian SSR). The Over All Winners were VLADIMIR BILYK ir STANISLAV POLIAKOV. Also in 1984 two competitions were organized in Charkov (Ukrainian SSR). The organizer was ARKADIJ KASANSKIJ (Аркадий Кашанский). The first one was the „Cup of U.S.S.R. Cities“ («Кубок городов С.С.С.Р.»). It was devoted to the political „Victory Day“ («День победы»). Bodybuilders from the Lithuanian SSR, R.S.F.S.R. and Ukrainian SSR took part at the event. The Over All Winners were VILTORAS JUCYS (Juniors, Lithuanian SSR) and ALEKSANDR IVANIUK (Александр Иванюк, Main Categories, R.S.F.S.R.). Another 1984 competition in Charkov was of the same name. The Category Winners were JUCYS VIKTORAS, LUTCAK VALERIJ (Валерий Лутцак, Ukrainian SSR), LINAS BALTRIMAVICIUS, RAIMONDAS PETRAITIS. All Winners were from Lithuanian SSR but VALERIJ LUTCAK. The over All Winners were VIKTORAS JUCYS ir VALERIJ LUTCAK. Folowing Kaunas organizers a famous contemporary poet and drama writer VITALIJ ASOVSKIJ (Виталий Асовский) organized the „Comsomol Cup“ in Vilnius in 1984. We would like to remind that after due to his illness the Chairman of the famous „Vilnius Bodybuilding School“ („Vilniaus kultūrizmo mokykla“, «Вильнюсская школа культуризма»)CESLAV TAMULEVIC (Чеслав Тамулевич) left the sport, VITALIJ ASOVSKIJ took the School leadership. Bodybuilders of various U.S.S.R. Countries used to come to Vilnius to study bodybuilding. Ukrainian VALRTIJ LUTCAK was among them. Seventeen bodybuilders from Lithuanian SSR, Ukrainian SSR and Belorussian SSR took part at the 1984 „Comsomol Cup“ in Vilnius. The Junior Category Winners were Lithuanians BALINSKAS REMIGIJUS, BISIKIRSKIJ DMITRIJ (Дмитрий Бессикирский) and the Main Categories won GORELIK EUGENE (Евгений Горелик), SUBACIUS ANTANAS (both of Lithuanian SSR), FEDIUK VLADIMIR (Владимир Федюк, Belorussian SSR) and ZURCEV EUGENE (Евгений Журцев, Lithuanian SSR). Over All Winners were DMITRIJ BISIKIRSKIJ bei EUGENE GORELIK. Also in 1984 another small competitios were organized in Luga (R.S.F.S.R.), Tallinn (Estonian SSR), Vitebsk (Belorussian SSR) and in Ryga (Latvian SSR). In 1984 bodybuilding contests were held in D.D.R. (Deutshces Demokratishe Republik, German Democratic Republic) and in the C.S.S.R. (Czechoslovakian SSR). Traditional Czechoslovakian „Trener“ competition was organized in Trnava City. The Category Winners were SAULIUS MISEVICIUS (Lithuanian SSR) and Czechoslovaks ANTONAS SHARAJ (Anton Šaraj), ANTON HOLIC and ALOIS PEK. Another Czechoslovak bodybuilding contest „Sandow“ was organized in Marianske Lazne resort. The organizer was LUDEK NOSEK. The Category Winners were the 1983 I.F.B.B. WORLD BODYBUILDING ENCYCLOPEDIA WORKS ON THOROUGH ARTICLE. HOFFMAN, LURIE, WEIDERS, HEIDENSTAM. A.A.U. – F.I.H.C. – W.B.B.G. – I.F.B.B. – N.A.B.B.A.. We write much about the Socialist bodybuilding which is still unknown to most of You. In the „West“ the situation in our sport was like this: After the WWII World Official Bodybuilding Sport was rulled by American BOB HOFFMAN (Robert Collins Hoffman, 1898 - 1985 m.) through I.O.C. (International Olympic Committee) member F.I.H.C. (Federation Internationale Halterophile et Culturiste). It lasted from 1947 until 1969 when F.I.H.C. refused to guide bodybuilding sport. In 1970 F.I.H.C. General Secretary British OSCAR STATE used JOE and BEN WEIDER brothers money and practical work and established the I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) Sport Federation in Belgrade (Yugoslavia). Until this time I.F.B.B. was not a federation but a private company only. Since 1947 until 1969 no other bodybuilding sport organization could confront F.I.H.C. as behind it was I.O.C.. This was about bodybuilding sport. At the same time during the mentioned time in the USA and Canada real commercial war was between private companies of BOB HOFFMAN, WEIDER brothers and DAN LURIE. All of them issued bodybuilding magazines. At the same time hiding behind F.I.H.C. of BOB HOFFMAN N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) ruled bodybuilding in Europe. Most was done due to the effоrts of the N.A.B.B.A. President OSCAR HEIDENSTAM. In 1948 BOB HOFFMAN organized F.I.H.C. „Mr. Universe“ during the London Olympic Games in London. After creating N.A.B.B.A. in 1950 BOB HOFFMAN used to send famous USA bodybuilders to N.A.B.B.A. „Mr. Universe. At that time only few European bodybuilders could fight with USA Athletes on stage. BOB HOFFMAN popularized bodybuilding in Great Britain. Until 1971 all efforts of DAN LURIE (W.B.B.G., World Body Building Guild) and WEIDER brothers to fight with BOB HOFFMAN on bodybuilding sport basis had no chances. WHO IN U.S.S.R. COULD THINK ON INTERNATIONAL LEVEL? ROLE OF PERSONALITY IN LIFE AND SPORT. Everyone‘s personality depends on many items. One of them is – basing on which position a personality analizes all happenings. We mean bodybuilders, of course. Do you think of this as a sportsman, as a trainer or organizer or you think as an International Leader? Specialists of our sport scrutinize the same documents and the same basics but everybody of them evaluate the same items on a different way. Then we may look if this specialist is of a local level or he represents the International one. The specialist must get himself above the happenings of his time and he must look on everything like a flying bird high in the sky. Otherwise he can not understand waht is going on. In the U.S.S.R. there were only few personalities who could think wide in the very beginning of bodybuilding. The representatives of various regions of the U.S.S.R. mostly were thinking in a narrow way. For example, Tiumen gym trainer JEVGENIJ KOLTUN (ЕвгенийКолтун, R.S.F.S.R.) always represented a gym level and nothing more. The same was with a Kaliningrad trainer JURIJ SMOLIAKOV (ЮрийСмоляков, R.S.F.S.R.) and with a Severodvinsk trainer the U.S.S.R. Champion ALEKSANDR LEMECHOV (Александр Лемехов, R.S.F.S.R.). The same was with a Leningrad gym trainer VLADIMIR DUBININ (ВладимирДубинин, R.S.F.S.R.). A representative of Riga (Latvian SSR) FELIKS SAJKOVSKIJ (ФеликсСайковский) and nearly all representatives of the Lithuanian SSR were on the same local level of understanding. There were no more active bodybuilding organizers in the U.S.S.R. at that time but only those we mentioned only. The exception could be the General Secretary of the formal „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.») ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS (РоманасКалинаускас). How we can understand this „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ when bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. is prohibited? It had totally no power. But unfortunatelly all activities of ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS were done through intrigues and blackmailing of his sport friends to the Communist political powers. Knowing no foreign languages ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS was separated from the World and could not understand the International process. Another exceptional person was INNAR MARDO (ИннарМардо, 1946 – 2002, Tallinn, Estonian SSR). He also did not know any foreign language and worked only in Estonia. Even to do anything on the U.S.S.R. level he had no interest. But on regular basis organized by INNAR MARDO „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («МемориалГеоргаТенно», 1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estonian SSR) contests gave him a huge prestige and respect of others. One more exception was DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. During the period of bodybuilding prohibition he organized illegal „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023, Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR) contests in 1974, 1975, 1976 and in 1977. Wishing to defend bodybuilding sport DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS for several years was in correspondence with the Ministry of Sport of the U.S.S.R. („U.S.S.R. Goskomsport“,ГоскомспортС.С.С.Р.). Finally received from the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport a negatyve answer DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS wrote a bodybuilding defending petition and personally brought it to Moscow. He presented the petition to the highest U.S.S.R. political powers: to the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist Party (Центральный Комитет Коммунистической партии С.С.С.Р.), to the U.S.S.R. Supreme Council (Верховный Совет С.С.С.Р.) and to the U.S.S.R. Ministry Council (Совет Министров С.С.С.Р.) and to the U.S.S.R. cental political newspapers „Pravda“ («Правда») and „Izvestija“ («Известия»). In 1978 due to the petition of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS the U.S.S.R. political powers gave him permition to organize „Amber Prix International“ in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR). Leaders do not like a stable life. A Leader of any kind has courage and resposibility. Leaders always seek the result end never doubt if they will not succeed. At the same time the majority does nothing. They sit in silence. So who was the bodybuilding Leader in the U.S.S.R.? The very similar to DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS life was of his friends in sport: the President I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) BEN WEIDER, also the similar way of life was of the President N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) OSCAR HEIDENSTAM and W.A.B.B.A. (World Amateur Body Building Association) President SERGE NUBRET. The same similar way was of the General Secretary F.I.H.C. (Federation Internationale Halterophile et Culturiste) International OSCAR STATE. Not knowing foreign languages narrowed possibilities of INNAR MARDO, but DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS assisted and helped him always. ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS did not know any foreign language and he always worked to be close to the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport. To say more he did his best to be close to the U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation (ФедерациятяжёлойатлетикиС.С.С.Р.). That were his top items for respect and loyality. But what he could get out of this when bodybuilding was prohibited in the U.S.S.R.? Just nothing. While studying English and German philology at the Vilnius State University DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS did several attempts to unite gyms of Vilnius City. Nobody else never tried to do this. Anyway bodybuilding was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and bodybuilders were afraid to do anything. It is easy to speak when the work is done and everything goes smoothly. But at the moment to fight agaist bodybuilding prohibition no one supported DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. No one. Today being already old many former U.S.S.R. bodybuilding organizers and bodybuilders try to „be Facebook friends“ of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Fine. But where they were at the hard times of risky fighting? During the fifty years of his bodybuilding activities there was a number of „deputies“ and assistants of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Many wanted to take the place of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and to go on doing the same. No one succeeded. Many disliked the stormy activities of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Especially when he succeeded in his work. And he did. Having no wish to get into the intrigues of such people DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS got into the Vilnius State University in 1979 again. This time DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS studied law after he received the speciality of the phylology before. And again he succeeded. The same happened with INNAR MARDO. He was pressed by the people of envy and hate to leave his work and positions after the intriques in the formal Bodybuilding Federattion of the Estonian SSR. INNAR MARDO did not succeed to come back in full power again. There were several attemps but he was never back to the former normal situation. Hate and envy of his bodybuilding collegues ruined his life in sport. This information is based on the letters of INNAR MARDO to DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Klaipeda bodybuilding was always a „Separate Republic“. And still is. It was in Lithuania, in the U.S.S.R. and Internationally now. It was based on the social and juridical status, on the International level - remember the World Bodybuilding Leaders whom we have mentioned above. International President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS is involved in the work of a number of International organizations which are collaborating with U.N. (United Nations) and U.N.S.E.C.O. (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).Who else was in the same position? The road was long. Much work and studies were needed. Due to his active International work DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS meets many World known persons. In 2010 in Portugal during the Congress of the International Order of Templars (O.S.M.T.H., Ordo Supremus Militari Templi Herosolimitani) for the original ideas to unite World Religions DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS by Greek ARCHIMANDRIT CHARALAMPIJ was awarded with the „St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Silver-Gold Medal“. In 2011 the Official Visit of the President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) International DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was organized to Vatican. Listening about the Bodybuilding activities during the years of prohibition of this sport in the Socialist Countries the Vatican Congregat Perfect Cardinal J. Em. JOZEF KARDINAL TOMKO (КардиналИозефТомко) was interested very much. Very big interest was shown to the bodybuilding defending petition of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and the victory that was achieved due to this. J. Em. JOZEF KARDINAL TOMKO positively evaluated our efforts to fight for the Bodybuilding Sport recognition and at once he named DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS as the „disident of the Communist Regime“. For this work done the Vatican Congregat Perfect Cardinal J. Em. JOZEF KARDINAL TOMKO presented the Original Vatican Pontific Medal (Medaglia Ufficiale di Pontificato di Sua Santita Benedetto XVI) to the International President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. Federation EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS (Headquarters State Vatican, Cita del Vaticano, March 29, 2011). During the last decades DSc. WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY. TWO U.S.S.R. BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS. THE BEGINNING. First pioneers of bodybuilding in Russia were weightlifters MARK SHAFRAN (Марк Шафран), ROMAN MOROZ (Роман Мороз), the first in the Socialist Countries World Weightlifting Champion GRIGORIJ NOVAK (Григорий Новак), Estonian GEORG TENNO and GENADIJ BALDIN (Геннадий Балдин). 1966. FIRST SOCIALIST INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION. In 1966 a bodybuilding contest was organized in Moscow (Russia) where the winner was IGOR PETRUCHIN (Игорь Петрухин, Russia). Also in 1966 the first in the Socialist Countries International Bodybuilding competition was organized in Vilnius (Lithuania). The Winners were IGOR PETRUCHIN, RYTIS MACIJAUSKAS and KLEMENSAS ALSHAUSKAS (both Lithuania); second places won Russian GENADIJ BALDIN, Lithuanians CESLAV TAMULEVICH (ЧеславТамулевич) and ANATOLIJ PRIC (АнатолийПриц); third places went to Russian MARK SHAFRAN and Lithuanians RIMANTAS ZUJUS and ALGIMANTAS RAMANAUSKAS. TRADITIONAL BODYBUILDING CONTESTS. During the bodybuilding prohibition in the Socialist World (1973 – 1987) only few brave persons dared to organize competitions. There were only two regular International Bodybuilding Contests in all Socialist World: the „Amber Prix International“ (1968 – 2023, „Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз») organized in Lithuania by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and „Georg Tenno Memorial“ (1971 – 1989, «МемориалГеоргаТэнно») organized in Estonia by INNAR MARDO (1946 – 2002). TWO OFFICIAL U.S.S.R. CHAMPIONSHIPS. Just before the prohibition and prosecution of bodybuilding in the Socialist World the 1971 and 1972 U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championships („Чемпионат С.С.С.Р.“) were held. We would like to remind that since 1947 until 1969 the World‘s Official Bodybuilding was ruled by the International Weightlifting Federation F.I.H.C.. F.I.H.C. was a member of the International Olympic Committee. All bodybuilding contests were of two parts: the power exercises and posing. In the Socialist Countries this tradition remained during all years of the prohibition of bodybuilding. Prosecuted by Governments and press bodybuilder were hiding themselves behind the power exercises. FIRST U.S.S.R. BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIP. The first U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship was held in 1971 in Russia Severodvinsk City. The Over All Champion was a Russian Severodvinsk Athlete ALEKSANDR LEMECHOV (Александр Лемехов), representing Leningrad City VLADIMIR DUBININ (Владимир Дубинин) was at the second place and at the third place was Russian VLADIMIR CHOMULIOV (Владимир Хомулёв). SECOND U.S.S.R. BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIP. In 1972 the second U.S.S.R. bodybuilding Championship was held in Russia City Sverdlovsk. The representatives of six countries of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania participated at the event. In the short category the Winner was VLADIMIR LIPJAINEN (Владимир Липьянен), the second place went to BORIS ZITKOV (Борис Житков), the third place went to DMITRIJ CHANEV (Дмитрий Чанев), all from Russia. 1985. SOCIALIST BODYBUILDING NEWS. The prohibition of bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. and Socialist countries lasted from 1973 until 1987. In 1987 in Kubenka (R.S.F.S.R.) was established the official „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.»). The prosecution of bodybuilding was so fierce in 1977. Then in 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS (Др. ЭДМУНДАСДАУБАРАС) dared to write bodybuilding defending petition. He personally brought it to Moscow and presenetd to the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist Party (ЦентральныйКомитетКоммунистическойпартииС.С.С.Р.) as well as to other highest U.S.S.R. political institutuins. No one of Socialist bodybuilders supported DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS then. All were afrayed. After this the prosecution of bodybuilders became softer and softer every year. In 1985 bodybuilders in the U.S.S.R. felt more freedom. Everybody felt comming „Perestrojka of Gorbachov“ («ПрерстройкаГорбачёва»). Why for many years on the President of the I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) BEN WEIDER, the Presidents of N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) OSCAR HEIDENSTAM and IVAN DUNBAR, the President of W.A.B.B.A. (World Amateur Body Building Association) SERGE NUBRET were in touch with „Klaipeda Bodybuilding Federagtion“ («Федерациякультуризмаг. Клайпеда») that was represented by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS? The answer is – until 1987 „Klaipeda Bodybuilding federation“ was the only one official federation in the U.S.S.R.. All other bodybuilding units were not registered officially and worked more or less illegal. And DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was the only one among the U.S.S.R. bodybuilders who knew foreign languages. Through communication of the mentioned persons long lasting friendly relations were built. In 1985 traditionally the most important bodybuilding comopetition in the USSR was the „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023). That was the „Unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ («неофициальный Чемпионат С.С.С.Р. по культуризму»). At the 1985 „Amber Prix International“ participated 56 bodybuilders representing Lithuanian SSR, Latvian SSR, R.S.F.S.R., Belorussian SSR and Ukrainian SSR. The Category Winners at the 1985 „Amber Prix International“ were: juniors - OLEG ZUR (Олег Жур), VIKTORAS JUCYS, LINAS BEKESIUS (all from Lithuanian SSR) and among Main Categories - VINCAS DUBICKAS, VLADAS KAPCEVICIUS, ALGIRDAS IVANAUSKAS bei SAULIUS MISEVICIUS (again all from Lithuanian SSR). Over All Winners were: VIKTORAS JUCYS ir VINCAS DUBICKAS. The second by the importance U.S.S.R. contest was held in Tallinn (Estonian SSR) „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («МемориалГеоргаТенно», 1971 - 1989). 47 bodybuilders from Lithuanian SSR, Latvian SSR, Estonian SSR, Ukrainian SSR, R.S.F.S.R., Belorussian SSR. The Category Winners were: Juniors - ROMAN BEREZOVYJ (Roman Berezovyj, Роман Березовый, Ukrainian SSR) ir RAIN KIMBER (Rein Kimber, Estonian SSR), Main Categories – Estonians INDREK OTSUS (Indrek Otsus), PAVEL KOSENKO (Павел Колсенко), AIN PAAVO ir EDMUNDAS GUDAVICIUS (Lithuanian SSR). Over All Winners were: ROMAN BEREZOVYJ ir INDREK OTSUS. In 1985 it was the last time we saw INNAR MARDO (1946 – 2002) as International Contest organizer. After this he dissapeared until 1996. City of Kaunas (Lithuanian SSR) organized two contests: traditional „Comsomol Cup“ („Komjaunimo taurė“, «Кубок комсомола») and the „Over All Winners Cup“ („Absoliučių čempionų taurė“, «Кубок абсолютных чемпионов»). 24 bodybuilders from P.N.R. (Polska Narodna Respublika), D.D.R. (Deutsches Demokratishe Republik, German Democratic republic), CSSR (Czechoslovakian SSR), R.S.F.S.R., Ukrainian SSR and Lithuanian SSR. That was first time when after 1978 bodybuilders of Czechoslovakian SSR came to the U.S.S.R.. Then in 1978 Secretary of the formal „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ (формальная «ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.») ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS due to his envy broke the common bodybuilding competitions in Lithuanian SSR and in Czechoslovakian SSR (read about it in our earlier articles). The Category Winners in 1985 were: PETER BUTZE (D.D.R.), ODRES ZEMBA (C.S.S.R.), VIKTORAS JUCYS (Lithuanian SSR) ir SERGEJ ZAICEV (Сергей Зайцев, R.S.F.S.R.). Another one Contest in Kaunas was organized first time - the „Over All Winners Cup“. 12 bodybuilders of Estonian SSR, Lithuanian SSR, Belorussian SSR and R.S.F.S.R. took part at the event. The first three places were taken by SAULIUS MISEVICIUS, VINCAS DUBICKAS ir ALGIRDAS IVANAUSKAS (all from Lithuanian SSR). In 1985 ARKADIJ KASANSKIJ (АркадийКашанский) went on organizing competitions in Charkov (Ukrainian SSR). This time 25 bodybuilders from Lithuanian SSR, R.S.F.S.R. and Ukrainian SSR took part at the competition. The Over All Winners were VIKTORAS JUCYS (Juniors) and VALERIJ LUTCAK (Валерий Лутцак, Main categories, Ukrainian SSR). First time competition was organized in Kronstadt (Кронштадт, R.S.F.S.R.). The Over All Winner was BORIS RAJEV (БорисРаев) from R.S.F.S.R.. Also in 1985 local contests were held in Latvian SSR, Belorussian SSR and Estonian SSR. In 1985 Czechoslovakian SSR held two traditional competitions ‚ „Sandow“ and „Trener“. The Category Winners of „Trener“ Contest were VINCAS DUBICKAS (Lithuanian SSR) and Czechoslovaks ANTON HOLIC, JAN CERNY, MILAN ROLINEC. Supported by the Sport Ministry of the Czechoslovakian SSR bodybuilders of this Country went on participating at the I.F.B.B. World and Europe Championships. They were the only ones from all Socialist World. Other Countries had strong Communist restrictions. In 1985 as well as in the previous 1984 European Champion‘s title went to MIROSLAV JASTERBSKI. SHORT HISTORY OF BODYBUILDING SEMINARS. 2023. SEMINAR FOR ACTIVE LITHUANIA BODYBUILDING SPECIALISTS. 1986. U.S.S.R. FIRST SEMINAR FOR BODYBUILDERS. Since 1978 until 1987 the „Amber Prix International („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023) was the „Unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ („Neoficialus T.S.R.S. kultūrizmo čempionatas“). During the 1986 competition representatives of the U.S.S.R. Sport Ministry (U.S.S.R. Goskomsport) organized the first in sport history seminar for the U.S.S.R. bodybuilders in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR). 1987 PUBLIC BODYBUILDING SEMINAR FOR KLAIPEDA CITIZEN. In 1987 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS organized public bodybuilding seminar – discussion for Klaipeda Citizen. It was held at the Congress Hall of Klaipeda Sea Port Palace and it lasted for two days in a row. The hall was full of participants. The attendants were collected through the advertisment in the main Klaipeda City newspaper. 1994. FIRST LITHUANIAN REPUBLIC BODYBUILDING SEMINAR. In May, 1991 the first in the new sport history National Bodybuilding Association (L.N.K.A., Lietuvos nacionalinė kultūrizmo asociacija) was established by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS in the Republic of Lithuania. It was suppoprted by the Ministry of Sport of the Lithuanian Republic (Kūno kultūros ir sporto departamentas prie LRV) and the National Olympic Commitee (Tautinis Olimpinis Komitetas). In 1994 the federation organized the first seminar for bodybuilding specialists. 1999 FIRST INTERNATIONAL BODYBUILDING SEMINAR. In 1999 W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) International organized the first International Bodybuilding Seminar in Daugavpils (Latvian Republic). 2015. FIRST SEMINAR OF INTERNATIONAL SPORT UNIVERSITY. In 2015 the International Sport University (I.S.U.) was registered in the Lithuanian Republic. WOMEN FITNESS SHORT HISTORY. GREAT STARS OF WORLD FITNESS. Today everybody knows that OKSANA GRISINA (Оксана Гришина, Russian Federation) is the conteporary World Fitness Leader. Just now she won Pro „Olympia“ contest and it was done maybe ten times in a row. But anyhow World Fitness started 100 years ago in the USA. LITHUANIA EMIGRANT CONGUERS AMERICA. It was Emigrant of Lithuania BRONE DUBAR (Broné “Brownie” Dubar, Daubaraitė, 1906 – 1986) who came with her family to the USA in 1912. When her sport achievements went high she started public shows. Specialists use to call her „World Fitness Pioneer“ but in her times there was no any fitness sport at all. To say more – women sport was included to „Olympics“ only in 1920. This was the reason that 100 years ago gymnastic and acrobatic exercises of BRONE DUBAR were not named as „sport“. Aiming to make fitness propaganda BRONE DUBAR made her shows through all USA – from South to North and from West to East. FIRST OVER ALL WORLD FITNESS CHAMPION. Lithuanian EDITA SENDRIENE (Daubaraite, Dubar) was the ground ground ground daughter of BRONE DUBAR. From the childhood attending balely and gymnastic schools she visited a N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) Show in Malta. EDITA SENDRIENE liked performances of some „Miss Figure“ participants. Returned to Lithuania she decided to train and participate at sport competitions. Everything was ok. In 1996 the founders of the W.F.F. - International (World Fitness Federation) DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and German KLAUS P.J. HOFFMANN started World Fitness Championships in Kaizerslautern (Germany). This way in 1997 in Manheim (Germany) EDITA SENDRIENE became the Over All World Fitness Champion. „Eurosport“ Television amde several reports about this. The Sport Ministry of Lithuanian Republic wanted to present EDITA SENDRIENE a Governmental Award but envy and intrigues among sport federations ruined this idea. SECOND AND THIRD OVER ALL WORLD FITNESS CHAMPIONS. After the victory of EDITA SENDRIENE the next two talanted World „Fitness Stars“ became the I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) Over All World Fitness Champions. That were MARIETA ZIGALOVA (Republic Slovakia) and ALEKSANDRA KOBIELAK (Republic Poland). For many years on both Athletes were representing their Countries at the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) World and Europe Fitness Championships. WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY. WHO AND HOW CREATED „U.S.S.R. BODYBUILDING FEDERATION“. We reached the year of 1986 working on the second book of the „World Body Building Encyclopedia“ („Pasaulio kultūrizmo enciklopedija“, «Энциклопедиявсемирногокультуризма»). We will publishe special report about who and how created the „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.») in 1987. The new federation was recognized by the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport (U.S.S.R. Goskomsport, МинистерствоспортаС.С.С.Р., ГоскомспортС.С.С.Р.). Until this everybody was satisfied with the „formal U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Fdederation“ (U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Comission, Всесоюзная комиссия атлетической гимнастики) which was set at the U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation (Федерация тяжёлой атлетики С.С.С.Р.). All was satisfied but not everybody.
