WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY.
1988. FIRST OFFICIAL U.S.S.R. BODYBUILDING CUP.
BACKGROUND.
We started working on the second part of the „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ („Pasaulio kultūrizmo enciklopedija“, «Энциклопедия мирового культуризма»). The book will cover the time since 1973 until 1991. In 1973 the bodybuilding sport was prohibited and prosecuted in the Socialist Countries. In 1991 the Socialist System was ruined.
Looking from the point of view of the Communist regime about twenty years bodybuilding was on illegal position in the Socialist Countries. Being afraid many organizers and bodybuilders stopped the activities. Only two regular traditional contests were organized in the U.S.S.R.. That were the „Georg Tenno Memorial („Georgo Tenno Memorialas“, «Мемориал Георга Тенно», Tallinn, Estonian SSR, 1971 - 1989) and the „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз», Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR, 1968 - 2022). The organizer of the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ was INNAR MARDO (Иннар Мардо, 1946 – 2002) and the organizer of the organizer of the „Amber Prix“ was DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. All other Socialist Countries did not organize the traditional International competitions. Later during the „MIKHAIL GORBACHOV Perestrojka“ (Перестройка) the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport (Goskomsport, Госкомспорт С.С.С.Р.) recognized the „Amber Prix International“ as the unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship. Then the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport started presenting to the Champions of the „Amber Prix International“ the honourable titles of the „U.S.S.R. Sport Master“ («Мастер спорта С.С.С.Р.).
To set the official U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation in 1987 the U.S.S.R. Congress of bodybuilders was organized in Kubenka city (near Moscow, Russian Federation). To the position of the President was elected an Olympic Weightlifting Champion JURIJ VLASOV (Олимпийский чемпион Юрий Власов).
In 1988 in Leningrad (Russian Federation) the first official „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Cup“ («Кубок С.С.С.Р. по культуризму») was held. The contest was recognized by the U.S.S.R. Government. National teams on many Socialist Countries participated at the event.
1988. U.S.S.R. FIRST OFFICIAL BODYBUILDING CUP.
The contest was held in the prestigeous Leningrad City Palace „Oktiabrskij (дворец „Октябрьский», Ленинград). The delegates and the athletes lived in the superious hotels. The Champions of the first supported by the Government „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Cup“ («Кубок С.С.С.Р. по культуризму») were the known bodybuilders:
STANISLAV POLIAKOV (Станислав Поляков, Riga, Latvian SSR; trained by FELIKS SAJKOVSKIJ – Феликс Сайковский)
VALERIJ BOGDANOVIC (Валерий Богданович, Minsk, Belorussian SSR; prepared without a trainer)
SAULIUS MISEVICIUS (Kaunas, Lithuanian SSR, prepared without a trainer)
VIKTORAS JUCYS (Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR; trained by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS).
The Over All Champion of the 1988 U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Cup was VIKTORAS JUCYS.
WHAT IS OFFICIAL RECOGNIZED FEDERATION. TRAINER OF CHAMPION.
During the last years appeared many “new federations” which fool sportsmen. No International organizations recognize them and their activities mean nothing to the sport. Basing on the former background Ministries of Sport of the former Communist Countries still finance national I.F.B.B. federations. Until bodybuilding sport due to the efforts of BOB HOFFMAN was ruled by the F.I.H.C. (F.I.H., Federation Internationale Halterophile) which is an I.O.C. (I.O.C., International Olympic Committee) member; until bodybuilding sport due to the efforts of WEIDER brothers JOE and BEN was ruled through the Membership in G.A.I.S.F. (“General Association of International Sports Federations”) – bodybuilding was a recognized and respected sport. Forget the official bodybuilding after during the last years I.F.B.B. two times was divided (2008, 2015). Only seeking money and fighting for profit is left. Last President of I.F.B.B. RAFAEL SANTONJA finally ruined the sport. In 2022 W.A.D.A. stopped working with I.F.B.B.. About other “federations” better to keep silence – it is only humor…
So, recognized and supported by the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport (“Госкомспорт С.С.С.Р.») the U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation organized the first official “U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Cup” in Leningrad (Russian Federation) in 1988. The U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport presented respectable titles of the “U.S.S.R. Master of Sport” for the Winners of this contest and gave medals and diplomas for the trainers of the Champions. Among them was the trainer of the Over All Champion DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. 
KALINAUSKAS MAKES PROBLEMS FOR BODYBUILDERS AGAIN.
All Champions of the first “U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Cup” were included to the U.S.S.R. National Team. Two bodybuilders of the Lithuanian SSR were among them. That were VIKTORAS JUCYS and SAULIUS MISEVICIUS. The team had to participate at the I.F.B.B. World Championship in Australia. Everybody had to receive special “foreign” passports and Australia visas. The U.S.S.R. National Team was led by the delegation of officials. The General Secretary of the U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS (Романас Калинаускас) was not included to the delegation to Australia. He was responsible to prepare “foreign passports” and Australia visas for the Lithuanian bodybuilders. ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS was angry about being not included to the delegation to Australia. He stopped the passports of VIKTORAS JUCYS and SAULIUS MISEVICIUS. Bodybuilders arrived to the airport and waited for the passports. The passports did not come…

French bodybuilder JACQUES NEUVILLE since 1976 until 1990 participated at the twenty seven W.B.B.G., N.A.B.B.A., W.A.B.B.A. and I.F.B.B. competitions. In 1977 he became N.A.B.B.A. and W.A.B.B.A. European Champion. In 1981 JACQUES NEUVILLE won the I.F.B.B. World Championship and the „World Games“.

Leningrad (Russian Federation) bodybuilder BORIS RAJEV (Борис Раев) since 1987 until 1989 participated at the six competitions. In 1987 in Leningrad he became the winner of the International „White Nights“ („Белые ночи») contest. In 1987 and in 1988 BORIS RAJEV participated at the historic „Amber Prix International“(«Янтарный приз», «Gintarinis prizas“, 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Lithuanian Republic) and both times was at the second place in his category.

USA bodybuilder MARTY VRANICAR since 1979 until 2007 participated at the twenty three A.A.U. and I.F.B.B. competitions. In 1979 and in 1980 he became the A.A.U. “Mr. North America” Champion. In 1981 MARTY VRANICAR won the I.F.B.B. “North American Championships”. In 1985 he was the winner of the A.A.U. “Mr. USA” and at the A.A.U. “Mr. International”.

Bodybuilder of the Lithuanian SSR HENRIKAS PUPELIS (Генрикас Пупялис) since 1979 until 1981 participated at the nine competitions. In 1979 he participated at the historic „Amber Prix International“ («Янтарный приз», „Gintarinis prizas“, 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Republic Lithuania) and at the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», 1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estonian SSR). At both contests in his category HENRIKAS PUPELIS was at the third place. In 1980 at the „Amber Prix International“ he was at the third place again. In 1980 and in 1981 HENRIKAS PUPELIS was at the third place at the „Two Cups“ („Dvi taurės“, «Два кубка», Kaunas, Lithuanian SSR). In 1981 he was at the third place at the competition „Lithuania versus Hungary“ (Vilnius, Lithuanian SSR, «Литва против Венгрии»).

VLADIMIR JELUFIMOV.
1980 National Champion of the Estonian SSR bodybuilder VLADIMIR JELUFIMOV (Владимир Елуфимов) since 1980 until 1987 participated at the eighteen competitions. In 1981 he was at the second place at the „Comsomol Cup“ („Komjaunimo taurė“, «Кубок комсомола») held in Kaunas (Lithuanian SSR). In 1983 and in 1985 VLADIMIR JELUFIMOV took the second place at the International Contest „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», 1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estinian SSR). In 1981 and in 1986 he was among the finalists at the historic „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз», 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Lithuania).

1966 and 1972 National Champion of Australia FRANK COLOMBERA (1944) participated at the N.A.B.B.A. and I.F.B.B. competitions since 1966. Best result of FRANK COLOMBERA was the first place and the Over All Champion‘s title at the 1972 I.F.B.B. „Mr. Southern Hemisphere Universe”.

A representative of the famous „Vilnius bodybuilding school“ ALGIS KERSULIS (Альгис Кершулис, 1952, Lithuania) since 1974 until 1977 participated at the eight competitions. Best result of ALGIS KERSULIS was in 1977 the first place in a category at the historic „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз», 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Republic Lithuania).

TEVFIK ULUSOGLU.
Turkish bodybuilder TEVFIK ULUSOGLU (1950) since 1978 until 1991 participated at the fifteen I.F.B.B. competitions. In 1979, 1980, 1988 he was a category winner at the I.F.B.B. Europe Championships. In 1988 TEVFIK ULUSOGLU became the I.F.B.B. World Champion.

National Champion of the Belorussian SSR bodybuilder VLADIMIR ALEKSANDROVIC (Владимир Александрович) since 1981 until 1988 participated at the twenty four competitions. He was the winner of the historic 1984 and 1987 „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, „Янтарный приз», 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Republic Lithuania). In 1983 and in 1984 VLADIMIR ALEKSANDROVIC won his category at the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», 1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estonian SSR).

LINDA SLAYTON.
USA bodybuilder LINDA SLAYTON (1947 – 2022) since 1987 until 1996 participated at the thirteen N.P.C., A.A.U. and N.A.B.B.A. competitions. She was at the first place at the 1988 A.A.U. “Miss USA”. In 1990 LINDA SLAYTON became the winner of the A.A.U. “Miss America” contest.

1987 INTERNATIONAL CONTEST „WHITE NIGHTS“.
Preparing the 2-d book of the „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ (“Энциклопедия всемирного культуризма») we will publish some separate historical articles of that time (1973 – 1991).
To participate as a guest at the 1986 historic „Amber Prix International“ («Янтарный приз», “Gintarinis prizas”, 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Republic Lithuania) DSC. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS (Др. Эдмундас Даубарас) invited from Leningrad (Russian Federation) a former famous U.S.S.R. bodybuilder VLADIMIR DUBININ (Владимир Дубинин). After loosing at the 1974 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», 1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estinian SSR) VLADIMIR DUBININ stopped participating at competitions and did not appear at the International events. When the 1986 „Amber Prix International“ ended the VIP International bodybuilding persons came together to the appartments of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS in Klaipeda. The reason was to discuss the plans of the future development of bodybuilding sport in the U.S.S.R. and Socialist Countries and to start the new U.S.S.R. Bodybuildin Federation. At the meeting participated: a well known U.S.S.R. bodybuilder VLADIMIR DUBININ, since 1975 representing Russian Federation at the International events VLADIMIR SUBOV (Владимир Шубов, Moscow), 1985-1986 International contest organizer in Ukraine ARKADIJ KASANSKIJ (Аркадий Кашанский, Charkov, Ukrainian SSR) and the historic „Amber Prix“ organizer DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. At that time DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was the only one among the U.S.S.R. bodybuilding leadres who perfectly knew several foreign languages. Also foreign situation was discussed as DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was in touch with the I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) President BEN WEIDER, the  W.A.B.B.A. (World Amateur Body Building Association) President SERGE NUBRET (Serge Nubret) and the N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) President OSCAR HEIDENSTAM.  
Note: during the prohibition of bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. and Socialist Countries the „Amber Prix International“ was the only one regularly organized International Bodybuilding competition in the Socalist World. Later the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport (U.S.S.R. Goskomsport, Госкомспорт С.С.С.Р.) recognized the „Amber Prix“ as the „unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ (неофициальный чемпионат С.С.С.Р. по культуризму) and started presenting to the „Amber Prix“ Champions the title of the „U.S.S.R. Sport Master“ («Мастер спорта С.С.С.Р.»).
At the 1986 International meeting in Klaipeda participants discussed the starting of the new U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («Федерация С.С.С.Р. по культуризму»). VLADIMIR DUBININ preposed the organize in Leningrad the International „White nights“ contest along with the „Amber Prix International“ and „Georg Tenno Memorial“.
„WHITE HIGHTS“.
In 1987 VLADIMIR DUBININ organized the International „White Nights“ competition as it was decided in Klaipeda. The contest was held at the still prestigeous in Russia  „Leningrad Palace Oktiabrskij“ («Дворец Октябрьский»). Bodubuilders of various U.S.S.R. republics participated at the event. The Category Winners were NIKOLAJ MALYSEV (Николай Малышев,  Russian Federation), PAVEL KOSENKO (Павел Косенко, Estonian SSR), BORIS RAJEV (Борис Раев, Leningrad, Russian Federation), the pupil of Dr. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS bodybuilder VIKTORAS JUCYS (Викторас Юцис, Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR). The title of the Over All „White Nights“ Champion went to VIKTORAS JUCYS.

Best results of PETRAITIS RAIMONDAS were the first places in his category at the hitoric „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз», 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Lithuanian Republic) and at the 1989 first official U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship (Чемпионат С.С.С.Р. по культуризму).

Bodybuilder of the Lithuanian SSR ALGIS IVANAUSKAS (Альгис Иванаускас) since 1980 until 1987 participated at the twenty competitions. Best results of ALGIS IVANAUSKAS were the first places in 1983 and in 1985 at the historic „Amber Prix International“ («Янтарный приз», «Gintarinis prizas“, 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Lithuanian Republic). In 1985 he bacame the Over All Winner of the „Amber Prix International“. In 1986 ALGIS IVANAUSKAS at the „Comcomol Cup“ („Komjaunimo taurė“, „Кубок комсомола», Kaunas, Lithuanian SSR) was at the first place too.

ONLY THREE CONTESTS HAD HISTORIC STRATEGIC VALUE.
There are many various level competitions around us and the value to the World‘s sport of every one is different. Through the time today working on the „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ we can clearly see what really every competition means to our sport. During the eighties of the last Century only three contests played great historic role to the Socialist Bodybuilding and to the World‘s Bodybuilding as well. The World was divided politically and the Bodybuilding Sport was prohibited in the Socialist Countries.  It was a big risk to everybody to be connected with this sport. This means that always we look upon the same things from the different point of view. Today we can underline that only three events were extremely important for the further development of bodybuilding:
- 1974 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», Tallinn, Estonian SSR, organized Innar Mardo, Иннар Мардо)
1975 I.F.B.B. Europe Championship (Amsterdam, Holland. Peter Stach from Czechoslovakia had broken the „Iron Wall“ and won the Europe Champion‘s title)
- 1978 „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, „Янтарный приз», Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR, organized by DSc. Edmundas Daubaras, Др. Эдмундас Даубарас).
We will speak about each of the mentioned events and explain the essence. Only due to them our sport looks as it looks now.
1974. “GEORG TENNO MEMORIAL”. BEGINNING.
Due to political reasons after 1971 bodybuilding in Socialist Countries was in problems. Finally in 1973 bodybuilding sport was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and all Socialist Countries. Bodybuilding activities were prosecuted. The press was full of negative articles about bodybuilding.
Competitions were not organized at that time. But there were some exceptions.
Representative of the Estonian SSR INNAR MARDO (Иннар Мардо, 1946 – 2002) and his friends started pressing the polititians of the Estonian SSR.  They presented bodybuilding as a national kind of sport in Estonian SSR. They spoke about old Estonian traditions in power sports, strongmen and wrestling. All remembered such known Estonian sport persons as GEORG LURICH (Георг Лурих, 1876 - 1920), GEORG HACKENSCHMIDT  (Георг Гаккеншмидт, 1878 – 1968), Olympic Champion KRISTIAN PALUSALU  (Kristian Trossmann, Кристиан Палусалу, 1908 – 1987).  Estonian GEORG TENNO(Георг Тенно, 1911 - 1967)  for long years on was working at the high sport offices of the U.S.S.R.. This was in 1971 when Estonians started organizing in Tallinn the International „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», 1971 – 1989) competition. The contest was nearly on regular basis and local governments somehow supported it.
Similar to Estonians did the bodybuilders of Czechslovakia. To hide the real bodybuilding basis they added a number of power exercises in their contests.
In Lithuania competitions were held underground and without public. In 1974 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS organized the fourth historic „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз», 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Lithuanian Republic). It was held in a city bomb shelter. After this the „Amber Prix“ was organized regularly. In 1976 the International Competition was held in Kalinin (Tver, Russian Federation). The Contest was done in a small city gym. In 1977 an International Contest was organized in a small Lithuanian SSR city Kedainiai and it was held in a small gym too. Lithuanians as well as bodybuilders of other Socialist Countries were hiding the bodybuilding with the power exercises.
In 1974 the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ was the only one bodybuilding contest in the U.S.S.R. which was supported by the Estonian Government. Though the U.S.S.R. polititians were prohibiting to do this.

ARTHUR ROBIN.
French Guadeloupe bodybuilder ARTHUR ROBIN (1927) since 1952 lived in the Continent France. He participated at the six F.I.H.C. and N.A.B.B.A. competitions after getting the membership at the “French Culturist Union”. In 1954 ARTHUR ROBIN was at the second place at the N.A.B.B.A. “Mr. Universe” contest. In 1955 he was at the second place at the F.I.H.C. “Mr. Universe”. In 1957 ARTHUR ROBIN won the N.A.B.B.A. Pro “Mr. Universe”. He was the first black bodybuilder to win this title.

Bodybuilder of the Estonian Republic INNA UIT since 1990 until 1998 participated at the ten International I.F.B.B. Competitions. Best result of INNA UIT were the first places at the 1995 I.F.B.B. Europe and at the 1996 I.F.B.B. World Amateur championships.

ONLY THREE CONTESTS HAD HISTORIC STRATEGIC VALUE.
There are many various level competitions around us and the value to the World‘s sport of every one is different. Through the time today working on the „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ we can clearly see what really every competition means to our sport. During the eighties of the last Century only three contests played great historic role to the Socialist Bodybuilding and to the World‘s Bodybuilding as well. The World was divided politically and the Bodybuilding Sport was prohibited in the Socialist Countries.  It was a big risk for everybody to be connected with this sport. This means that always we look upon the same things from the different point of view. Today we can underline that only three events were extremely important for the further development of bodybuilding:
- 1974 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ (1971 – 1989, «Мемориал Георга Тенно», Tallinn, Estonian SSR, organized Innar Mardo, Иннар Мардо)
1975 I.F.B.B. Europe Championship (Amsterdam, Holland. Peter Stach from Czechoslovakia had broken the „Iron Wall“ and won the Europe Champion‘s title)
- 1978 „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, „Янтарный приз», Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR, organized by DSc. Edmundas Daubaras, Др. Эдмундас Даубарас) opened the new page of the U.S.S.R. bodybuilding.
We will speak about each of the mentioned events and explain the essence. Only due to these competitions our sport looks as it looks now.
1974. “GEORG TENNO MEMORIAL”. BEGINNING.
Due to political reasons after 1971 bodybuilding in Socialist Countries was in problems. Finally in 1973 bodybuilding sport was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and all Socialist Countries. Bodybuilding activities were prosecuted. The press was full of negative articles about bodybuilding.
Competitions were not organized at that time. But there were some exceptions.
A representative of the Estonian SSR INNAR MARDO (Иннар Мардо, 1946 – 2002) and his friends started pressing the polititians of the Estonian SSR.  They presented bodybuilding as a national kind of sport in Estonian SSR. They spoke about old Estonian traditions in power sports, strongmen and wrestling. All remembered such known Estonian sport persons as GEORG LURICH (Георг Лурих, 1876 - 1920), GEORG HACKENSCHMIDT  (Георг Гаккеншмидт, 1878 – 1968), Olympic Champion KRISTIAN PALUSALU  (Kristian Trossmann, Кристиан Палусалу, 1908 – 1987).  Estonian GEORG TENNO(Георг Тенно, 1911 - 1967)  for long years on was working at the high sport offices of the U.S.S.R.. This was in 1971 when Estonians started organizing in Tallinn the International „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», 1971 – 1989) competition. The contest was nearly on regular basis and local governments somehow supported it.
Similar to Estonians did the bodybuilders of Czechslovakia. To hide the real bodybuilding basis they added a number of power exercises in their contests.
In Lithuania competitions were held underground and without public. In 1974 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS organized the fourth historic „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз», 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Lithuanian Republic). It was held in a city bomb shelter. After this the „Amber Prix“ was organized regularly. In 1976 the International Competition was held in Kalinin (Tver, Russian Federation). The Contest was done in a small city gym. In 1977 an International Contest was organized in a small Lithuanian SSR city Kedainiai and it was held in a small gym too. Lithuanians as well as bodybuilders of other Socialist Countries were hiding the bodybuilding with the power exercises.
In 1974 in Estonian SSR the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ was the only one bodybuilding contest in the U.S.S.R. which was more or less supported by the Government. Though the U.S.S.R. polititians were prohibiting to do this.
4-th „GEORG TENNO MEMORIAL“ BRAKED PROHIBITION OF BODYBUILDING.
 
Who can imagine the idea to organize an International Bodybuilding Contest when bodybuilding was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and in all Socialist Countries? When the Governments announced the prohibition of bodybuilding the competitions were stopped everywhere. The participants of the 4-th „Georg Tenno Memorial“ had risk to be punnished but they dared to particpate in Estonia anyhow. This way the 4-th „Georg Tenno Memorial“ was a serious polittical step.
In 1974 among the possible winners of the contest was the 1971 – 1972 Over All Champion of the „Georg Tenno Memorial“  Russian VLADIMIR DUBININ (Владимир Дубинин). Nevertheless the Estonians were making a surprise with OLEV ANNUS (Олев Аннус) for everybody. Lithuanians kept silence. After serving in the army among the participants was a former National Champion of the Lithuanian SSR and the winner of the 1971 International Contest PRANAS MURAUSKAS (Пранас Мураускас). He represented a famous historical „Vilnius Bodybuilding School“ («Вильнюсская школа культуризма»). VLADIMIR DUBININ laughed at PRANAS MURAUSKAS when somebody showed him this bodybuilder. PRANAS MURAUSKAS weighed 37 kilograms less than VLADIMIR DUBININ.

The Chairmen and Trainers of this „school“ were the Legend of Bodybuilding CZESLAV TAMULEWISZ (Чеслав Тамулевич, Ceslav Tamulevic) and VITALIJ ASOVSKIJ (Виталий Асовский). The main bodybuilding person of the Estonian SSR INNAR MARDO (1946 – 2002)  organized the publications about the competition in the „Western“ bodybuilding press. He did it hrough his personal friends in Finland. For long time the pictures of PRANAS MURAUSKAS were in the pages of many World Bodybuilding Magazines.

British bodybuilder JOHN WOOD since 1976 until 1989 participated at the thirteen N.A.B.B.A. and W.A.B.B.A. competitions. Best result of JOHN WOOD was the second place at the 1989 N.A.B.B.A. World Championship.

ROLANDAS BUCINSKAS.
National Champion Bodybuilder of the Lithuanian Republic ROLANDAS BUCINSKAS (Роландас Бучинскас) since 1982 until 1996 participated at the seventeen competitions. In 1982, 1983, 1986 he was the winner of the historic „Amber Prix International“ (1968 – 2022, „Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз»,  Klaipeda, Lithuania). In 1986 ROLANDAS BUCINSKAS was the Over All Champion of the „Amber Prix International“. In 1983 he was the winner of the „Goorg Tenno Memorial“ (1971 – 1989, «Мемориал Георга Тенно», Tallinn, Estonian SSR). In 1988 ROLANDAS BUCINSKAS was at the second place in his category at the first official „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Cup“ («Кубок С.С.С.Р. по культуризму», Leningrad, Russian Federation). In 1995 he became the I.F.B.B. Europe Champion and in 1996 the I.F.B.B. World Amateur Champion.

USA bodybuilder JANET TECH since 1984 until 1988 participated at the eighteen N.P.C. and I.F.B.B. competitions. Best result of JANET TECH was the first place at the 1988 I.F.B.B. World Amateur Championship.

Bodybuilder of the Lithuanian SSR RICARDAS PETRAUSKAS (Ричардас Петраускас) since 1978 until 2001 participated at the eighteen competitions. In 1978, 1979, 1981, 1982 he was the category winner of the historic „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз», 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Republic Lithuania). RICARDAS PETRAUSKAS was a category winner at the 1981 International „Comsomol Cup“ („Komjaunimo taure“, «Кубок комсомола», Kaunas, Lithuanian SSR). The best result of RICARDAS PETRAUSKAS was the first place in 1989 at the first official „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ («Чемпионат С.С.С.Р. по культуризму», Leningrad, Russian Federation).

ONLY THREE CONTESTS HAD HISTORIC STRATEGIC VALUE.
There are many various level competitions around us and the value to the World‘s sport of every one is different. Through the time today working on the „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ we can clearly see what really every competition means to our sport. During the eighties of the last Century only three contests played great historic role to the Socialist Bodybuilding and to the World‘s Bodybuilding as well. The World was divided politically and the Bodybuilding Sport was prohibited in the Socialist Countries.  It was a big risk for everybody to be connected with this sport. This means that always we look upon the same things from the different point of view. Today we can underline that only three events were extremely important for the further development of bodybuilding:
- 1974 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ (1971 – 1989, «Мемориал Георга Тенно», Tallinn, Estonian SSR, organized Innar Mardo, Иннар Мардо)
1975 I.F.B.B. Europe Championship (Amsterdam, Holland. VOJTECH FIALA from Czechoslovakia had broken the „Iron Wall“ and first time in sport‘s history PETER STACH won the Europe Champion‘s title)
- 1978 „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, „Янтарный приз», Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR, organized by DSc. Edmundas Daubaras, Др. Эдмундас Даубарас) opened the new page of the U.S.S.R. bodybuilding.
We will speak about each of the mentioned events and explain the essence. Only due to these competitions our sport looks as it looks now.
PROHIBITION OF BODYBUILDING RUINED RELATIONS.
Relations between the Socialist Countries started in 1966 when Lithuanians organized first International contest in Vilnius (Lithuanian SSR). These relations were ruined when in 1973 the prohibition of bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. and all Socialist Countries was announced. Everybody was afraid to be punnished. The “U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Committee “ («Общественный комитет по атлетической гимнастике С.С.С.Р.») which was set up in 1968 in Kaunas (Lithuanian SSR) now stopped working too. All Chairmen of the Committee left bodybuilding: Lithuanians VALERIJ KORESHKOV (Валерий Корешков) went on working as a journalist; VYTAUTAS ZUMERIS (Витаутас Зумерис) worked in the sport medicine; Russians GENNADIJ BALDIN (Геннадий Балдин), ROMAN MOROZ (Роман Мороз) and VLADIMIR PETROV (Владимир Петров) were busy with the weightlifting sport.
Similar situation was in other Socialist Countries.
Aiming to escape the prosecution under the leadership of INNAR MARDO (1946 – 2002) Estonians named the bodybuilding as a „National Kind of Sport“. The Government let them go on organizing the „Georg Tenno Memorial‘ (1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estonian SSR).
Lithuanians without public and publicity were working „underground“.  In 1973 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS organized bodybuilding contest in the old Klaipeda City prison and in 1974 he also organized the fourth historic „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз»,  1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Lithuanian Republic). It was held in a bomb shelter.  From time to time „silent“ contests were ogranized in Kaunas too.
VOJTECH FIALA OPENS DOORS FOR CZECHOSLOVAKS.
Bodybuilders in Czechoslovakia were supported by their Government. They remembered very well the work of the American BOB HOFFMAN in the International F.I.H.C. federation. The F.I.H.C. was a member of the I.O.C. (International Olympic Committee). For twenty years F.I.H.C. was supported by the Governments of all Socialist Countries. The F.I.H.C. always had power exercises at their regular bodybuilding World Championships. This way the Czechoslovaks started power exercises at their National bodybuilding competitions again. After some time Czechoslovakia bodybuilders received permittion to participate at the I.F.B.B. World and Europe Championships. Bodybuilders of all Socialist World could not even dream about this. Several weeks before the International contests the National bodybuilding team of Czechoslovakia was financed by their Sport Ministry. Bodybuilders lived and trained at the National Olympic Centre in the mountains. It was evident that the sportsmen of Czechoslovakia were fare ahead of all Socialist Countries. It was only on the personal efforts of VOJTECH FIALA who was at those years the President of the National Czechoslovakia Bodybuilding Federation. VOJTECH FIALA used his personal power and contacts at the Government of Czechoslovakia and also abroad in the „Western“ Countries.
This was how the bodybuilders of Czechoslovakia during the years of bodybuilding prohibition is the Socialist Countries entered the 1975 I.F.B.B. Europe Championship (Amsterdam, Holland).

VICTOR TERRA.
USA bodybuilder VICTOR TERRA since 1983 until 1992 participated at the seventeen  A.A.U., N.P.C. and N.A.B.B.A. competitions. In 1983 he became the winner of the A.A.U. Junior “Mr. America” and the N.P.C. “Mr. USA” contests. In 1985 VICTOR TERRA won the A.A.U. “Mr. America”. In 1988 he was the Over All Champion of the N.A.B.B.A. “Mr. Universe”. In 1992 VICTOR TERRA won the N.A.B.B.A. Pro “Mr. Universe” competition.
