2023. WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY.
ONLY THREE CONTESTS HAD HISTORIC STRATEGIC VALUE.
Today the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation)  International unites 140 Country – Members and organizes nearly 60 annual Amateur and Professional International Events World Wide. Looking from the juridical point of view the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International is no doubt the Real World Bodybuilding Leader.
Crowning it‘s 55 years of  International Bodybuilding activities, the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F.  works on the Unique Global International Bodybuilding Project -  the „World Bodybuilding  Encyclopedia“ («Энциклопедия всемирного культуризма», “Pasaulio kultūrizmo enciklopedija”).
Part One of the Encyclopedia covering period since ancient times to 1973 is finished. Now we are working on the Second Book covering period of time since 1973 until 1991.
ONLY THREE CONTESTS HAD HISTORIC STRATEGIC VALUE.
There are many various level competitions around us and the value to the World‘s sport of every one is different. Through the time today working on the „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ we can clearly see what really every competition means to our sport. During the eighties of the last Century only three contests played great historic role to the Socialist Bodybuilding and to the World‘s Bodybuilding as well. The World was divided politically and the Bodybuilding Sport was prohibited in the Socialist Countries.  It was a big risk to everybody to be connected with this sport. This means that always we look upon the same things from the different point of view. Today we can underline that only three events were extremely important for the further development of bodybuilding:
- 1974 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», Tallinn, Estonian SSR, organized Innar Mardo, Иннар Мардо)
1975 I.F.B.B. Europe Championship (Amsterdam, Holland. Peter Stach from Czechoslovakia had broken the „Iron Wall“ and won the Europe Champion‘s title)
- 1978 „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, „Янтарный приз», Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR, organized by DSc. Edmundas Daubaras, Др. Эдмундас Даубарас).
We will speak about each of the mentioned events and explain the essence. Only due to them our sport looks as it looks now.
1974. “GEORG TENNO MEMORIAL”. BEGINNING.
Due to political reasons after 1971 bodybuilding in Socialist Countries was in problems. Finally in 1973 bodybuilding sport was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and all Socialist Countries. Bodybuilding activities were prosecuted. The press was full of negative articles about bodybuilding.
Competitions were not organized at that time. But there were some exceptions.
Representative of the Estonian SSR INNAR MARDO (Иннар Мардо, 1946 – 2002) and his friends started pressing the polititians of the Estonian SSR.  They presented bodybuilding as a national kind of sport in Estonian SSR. They spoke about old Estonian traditions in power sports, strongmen and wrestling. All remembered such known Estonian sport persons as GEORG LURICH (Георг Лурих, 1876 - 1920), GEORG HACKENSCHMIDT  (Георг Гаккеншмидт, 1878 – 1968), Olympic Champion KRISTIAN PALUSALU  (Kristian Trossmann, Кристиан Палусалу, 1908 – 1987).  Estonian GEORG TENNO(Георг Тенно, 1911 - 1967)  for long years on was working at the high sport offices of the U.S.S.R.. This was in 1971 when Estonians started organizing in Tallinn the International „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», 1971 – 1989) competition. The contest was nearly on regular basis and local governments somehow supported it.
Similar to Estonians did the bodybuilders of Czechslovakia. To hide the real bodybuilding basis they added a number of power exercises in their contests.
In Lithuania competitions were held underground and without public. In 1974 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS organized the fourth historic „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз», 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Lithuanian Republic). It was held in a city bomb shelter. After this the „Amber Prix“ was organized regularly. In 1976 the International Competition was held in Kalinin (Tver, Russian Federation). The Contest was done in a small city gym. In 1977 an International Contest was organized in a small Lithuanian SSR city Kedainiai and it was held in a small gym too. Lithuanians as well as bodybuilders of other Socialist Countries were hiding the bodybuilding with the power exercises.
In 1974 the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ was the only one bodybuilding contest in the U.S.S.R. which was supported by the Estonian Government. Though the U.S.S.R. polititians were prohibiting to do this.

4-th „GEORG TENNO MEMORIAL“ BRAKED PROHIBITION OF BODYBUILDING.

Who can imagine the idea to organize an International Bodybuilding Contest when bodybuilding was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and in all Socialist Countries? When the Governments announced the prohibition of bodybuilding the competitions were stopped everywhere. The participants of the 4-th „Georg Tenno Memorial“ had risk to be punnished but they dared to particpate in Estonia anyhow. This way the 4-th „Georg Tenno Memorial“ was a serious polittical step.
In 1974 among the possible winners of the contest was the 1971 – 1972 Over All Champion of the „Georg Tenno Memorial“  Russian VLADIMIR DUBININ (Владимир Дубинин). Nevertheless the Estonians were making a surprise with OLEV ANNUS (Олев Аннус) for everybody. Lithuanians kept silence. After serving in the army among the participants was a former National Champion of the Lithuanian SSR and the winner of the 1971 International Contest PRANAS MURAUSKAS (Пранас Мураускас). He represented a famous historical „Vilnius Bodybuilding School“ («Вильнюсская школа культуризма»). VLADIMIR DUBININ laughed at PRANAS MURAUSKAS when somebody showed him this bodybuilder. PRANAS MURAUSKAS weighed 37 kilograms less than VLADIMIR DUBININ.
The results of the the 4-th „Georg Tenno Memorial“:

The Chairmen and Trainers of this „school“ were the Legend of Bodybuilding CZESLAV TAMULEWISZ (Чеслав Тамулевич, Ceslav Tamulevic) and VITALIJ ASOVSKIJ (Виталий Асовский). The main bodybuilding person of the Estonian SSR INNAR MARDO (1946 – 2002)  organized the publications about the competition in the „Western“ bodybuilding press.
Crowning it‘s 56 years of  International Bodybuilding activities, the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F.  works on the Unique Global International Bodybuilding Project -  the „World Bodybuilding  Encyclopedia“ («Энциклопедия всемирного культуризма», “Pasaulio kultūrizmo enciklopedija”).
It was a big risk for everybody to be connected with this sport. This means that always we look upon the same things from the different point of view. Today we can underline that only three events were extremely important for the further development of bodybuilding:
- 1974 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ (1971 – 1989, «Мемориал Георга Тенно», Tallinn, Estonian SSR, organized Innar Mardo, Иннар Мардо)
1975 I.F.B.B. Europe Championship (Amsterdam, Holland. Peter Stach from Czechoslovakia had broken the „Iron Wall“ and won the Europe Champion‘s title)
- 1978 „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, „Янтарный приз», Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR, organized by DSc. Edmundas Daubaras, Др. Эдмундас Даубарас) opened the new page of the U.S.S.R. bodybuilding.
We will speak about each of the mentioned events and explain the essence. Only due to these competitions our sport looks as it looks now.
A representative of the Estonian SSR INNAR MARDO (Иннар Мардо, 1946 – 2002) and his friends started pressing the polititians of the Estonian SSR.
In 1974 in Estonian SSR the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ was the only one bodybuilding contest in the U.S.S.R. which was more or less supported by the Government.

2.    KIRSUPUU PEEP (Estonian SSR)
3.    OTSUS INDREK (Estonian SSR)

2.    DUBININ VLADIMIR (Russian Federation)

Except OLEV ANNUS all category Winners were representing „Vilnius Bodybuilding School“ («Вильнюсская школа культуризма»). He did it through his personal friends in Finland. For long time the pictures of PRANAS MURAUSKAS were in the pages of many World Bodybuilding Magazines.

We will speak about each of the mentioned events and explain the essence. Only due to these competitions our sport looks as it looks now.
PROHIBITION OF BODYBUILDING RUINED RELATIONS.
Relations between the Socialist Countries started in 1966 when Lithuanians organized first International contest in Vilnius (Lithuanian SSR). These relations were ruined when in 1973 the prohibition of bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. and all Socialist Countries was announced. Everybody was afraid to be punnished. The “U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Committee “ («Общественный комитет по атлетической гимнастике С.С.С.Р.») which was set up in 1968 in Kaunas (Lithuanian SSR) now stopped working too. All Chairmen of the Committee left bodybuilding: Lithuanians VALERIJ KORESHKOV (Валерий Корешков) went on working as a journalist; VYTAUTAS ZUMERIS (Витаутас Зумерис) worked in the sport medicine; Russians GENNADIJ BALDIN (Геннадий Балдин), ROMAN MOROZ (Роман Мороз) and VLADIMIR PETROV (Владимир Петров) were busy with the weightlifting sport.
Similar situation was in other Socialist Countries.
Aiming to escape the prosecution under the leadership of INNAR MARDO (1946 – 2002) Estonians named the bodybuilding as a „National Kind of Sport“. The Government let them go on organizing the „Georg Tenno Memorial‘ (1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estonian SSR).
Lithuanians without public and publicity were working „underground“.  In 1973 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS organized bodybuilding contest in the old Klaipeda City prison and in 1974 he also organized the fourth historic „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз»,  1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Lithuanian Republic). It was held in a bomb shelter.  From time to time „silent“ contests were ogranized in Kaunas too.
VOJTECH FIALA OPENS DOORS FOR CZECHOSLOVAKS.
Bodybuilders in Czechoslovakia were supported by their Government. They remembered very well the work of the American BOB HOFFMAN in the International F.I.H.C. federation. The F.I.H.C. was a member of the I.O.C. (International Olympic Committee). For twenty years F.I.H.C. was supported by the Governments of all Socialist Countries. The F.I.H.C. always had power exercises at their regular bodybuilding World Championships. This way the Czechoslovaks started power exercises at their National bodybuilding competitions again. After some time Czechoslovakia bodybuilders received permittion to participate at the I.F.B.B. World and Europe Championships. Bodybuilders of all Socialist World could not even dream about this. Several weeks before the International contests the National bodybuilding team of Czechoslovakia was financed by their Sport Ministry. Bodybuilders lived and trained at the National Olympic Centre in the mountains. It was evident that the sportsmen of Czechoslovakia were fare ahead of all Socialist Countries. It was only on the personal efforts of VOJTECH FIALA who was at those years the President of the National Czechoslovakia Bodybuilding Federation. VOJTECH FIALA used his personal power and contacts at the Government of Czechoslovakia and also abroad in the „Western“ Countries.
This was how the bodybuilders of Czechoslovakia during the years of bodybuilding prohibition is the Socialist Countries entered the 1975 I.F.B.B. Europe Championship (Amsterdam, Holland).

“GEORG TENNO MEMORIALS”.
Working on the second book of the “World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia” it came to our mind to underline the “Georg Tenno Memorial” («Мемориал Георга Тенно», 1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estonian SSR) contest. There are many reasons and among them these:
-       When bodybuilding sport in 1973 was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and Socialist Countries – the “Georg Tenno Memorial” and the “Amber Prix International” (“Gintarinis prizas”, «Янтарный приз», 1968 – 2002, Klaipeda, Republic Lithuania, Organizer DSc. Edmundas Daubaras) were the only ones regular International competitions in the Socialist World. That was and still is a part of the World bodybuilding history.
-       The “Georg Tenno Memorial” was organized by the “Heart of Estonia Bodybuilding” INNAR MARDO (Иннар Мардо, 1946 – 2002). Since 1998 until his death he was the president of the National W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. federation.
-       In 1987 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS for several months was working in Tallinn. INNAR MARDO was ill. Then DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS (Др. Эдмундас Даубарас) and Estonian INDREK OTSUS (Индрек Отсус) organized the 1987 “Georg Tenno Memorial”.
-       Since the first “Georg Tenno Memorial” and „Amber Prix International“ best bodybuilders of the U.S.S.R. participated at these competitions. For them that was the only one chance to “go to another country regularly” at that time.
Step by step we will write the stories about each of the “Georg Tenno Memorial”. Also we will touch International happenings that were connected with the “Georg Tenno Memorial”.

VOJTECH FIALA from Czechoslovakia had broken the „Iron Wall“ and first time in sport‘s history PETER STACH won the Europe Champion‘s title)

IMPRISONED WITH NOBEL PRIZE OWNER ALEKSANDR SOLZHENITSYN.
GEORG TENNO – ESTONIA HEROE OF SOVIET TIMES.
SOCIALIST WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY.
In the sixties of the last century the greatest bodybuilding propaganda in the U.S.S.R. was made by the Estonian weightlifter GEORG TENNO (Георгий Тэнно, 1911 - 1967). GEORG TENNO was a former navy officer and participant of the Second World War. In 1948 due to a false accusement of spying against the U.S.S.R. GEORG TENNO was arrested and sentenced to eight years imprisonment. It happened that GEORG TENNO was placed in the same prison cell together with the U.S.S.R. disident ALEKSANDR SOLZHENITSYN  (Александр Солженицын). During the imprisonment GEORG TENNO made five unsuccessfull attempts to run away. There is a story about GEORG TENNO in the famous book of ALEKSANDR SOLZHENITSYN „Arkhipelag Gulag“ named „The Runaway“ “ («Убежденный беглец»). About GEORG TENNO ALEKSANDR SOLZHENITSYN wrote: „He was the most stronger and the most brave of us...“. In 1970 Nobel Committee awarded ALEKSANDR SOLZHENITSYN with the Nobel Prize in Literature.
Ending the fifties of the last century GEORGIJ TENNO was released from the prison. He started working at the U.S.S.R. Institute of Scientific Studies of the Physical Culture (В.Н.И.И.Ф.
In 1968 GEORG TENNO published his book „The Athletism“ («Атлетизм»). At once it became very popular. The book was full of information: training methods, recupperation after workouts and various diets. At that time this was a unique information. Though GEORG TENNO did not speak about the sources of his knowlidge but it was evident he used various foreign literature. The work at the institute gave him such opportunities. After imprisonment GEORG TENNO knew very well all political moments and he was carefull. Due to this in his book he wrote that „bodybuilding is not to stay in fron of a mirror. Bodybuilding is to strenthen the muscles that will serve to the country“.
Once VLADIMIR CIUDINOV in the U.S.S.R. popular magazine „Sportivnaja žizn Rossii“ («Спортивная жизнь России») insisted that the U.S.S.R. system of physical culture should accept the bodybuilding methods developed by GEORG TENNO. He speaks how GEORG TENNO translated information from the „West“ literature. Often he just copied the methodical information. GEORG TENNO never saw any diference between the bodybuilding and the „athletism“. Also GEORG TENNO thought that „everybody for himself is the advicer and the trainer“.
Suddenly when the prosecution of bodybuilding started GEORG TENNO  died in an accident. Who knows - maybe it was an accidental death.
To remember GEORG TENNO Estonians started organizing the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно») contest in 1971. Fourteen Memorials were organized until 1989. For long years of the bodybuilding prohibition and prosecution in the Socialist Countries  „Georg Tenno Memorial“ and the historic „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis Prizas“, «Янтарный приз», 1968-2022) were the only one regular bodybuilding competitions in the Socialist Countries.
Remark: the documents of the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ collected by the President W.F.F. –W.B.B.F. Estonia INNAR MARDO are kept in the archieves of the W.F.F.-W.B.B.F. International Federation.

Over All Champion PETER STACH.
1975. DSC. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA.
In the Socialist times as it is today the universities of the countries exchanged the groups of students. As DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was a student of Vilnius State University (Lithuanian Republic) he managed to go to the capital of Czechoslovakia Praha in 1975.
In Praha several times DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS had meetings with the President of the Čzechoslovakia National Bodybuilding Federation VOJTECH FIALA. After the 1973 bodybuilding prohibition in Socialist Countries DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was the first representative of the U.S.S.R. bodybuilding who visited Czechoslovakia.
At that time VOJTECH FIALA was just after the 1975 I.F.B.B. Europe Championship where PETER STACH became the Over All I.F.B.B. Europe Champion. During the meetings of VOJTECH FIALA and DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS many questions were spoken over. Among them the situation in International bodybuilding, sport positions in Czecoslovakia and in the U.S.S.R..
Note: we always speak about the Champion and always forget why and how he became the Champion. In this case it was done due to the work of VOJTECH FIALA. At that time he “opened the doors” for the Czechoslovakia bodybuilder to the “West”. There are lots of “heroes” when all goes well. But where were those “heroes” when somebody had to risk and to fight for bodybuilding?
One time  VOJTECH FIALA and DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS visited Praha Rodotin where PETER STACH was living and training. In his gym PETER STACH demonstrated his training session and posed in front of the guests.
Another time VOJTECH FIALA and DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS visited the Ministry of Sport of the Czechoslovakia  (Č.S.T.V., Československy Svaz Telesne Vychvy). They had a meeting with the Chairmen of the Ministry. The Headquarters of the National Bodybuilding Federation of Czechoslovakia were placed at the building of the Ministry of Sport. Then the general secretary of the federation was a famous bodybuilder PETER TLAPAK (1976 I.F.B.B. Europe Champion). At the Headquarters while speaking with PETER TLAPAK the bodybuilder posed and demonstrated his muscles in front of the guests.
When DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was leaving the Czechoslovakia he agreed with VOJTECH FIALA to keep the relations on. The Czechoslovakians appointed Praha bodybuilding trainer IVAN MACH to do correspondence with DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and inform the federation.

«GEORG TENNO MEMORIALS».
WORLD BODYBUILDING ENCYCLOPEDIA.
BOOK TWO (covering time 1973-1991).
Part One of the Encyclopedia covering period since ancient times to 1973 is finished. Now we are working on the Second Book covering period of time since 1973 until 1991.
BEGINNING. F.I.H.C. AND SOCIALIST BODYBUILDING.
The topic has been already covered in the first part of the “World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia” (“Pasaulio kultūrizmo enciklopedija”, «Энциклопедия мирового культуризма»). Nevertheless we will touch several important points again.
The A.A.U. (Amateur Athletic Union) started it’s work in the nineteenth century and for long time it was as a “Sport Ministry” of the USA. American BOB HOFFMAN always was very much connected with the A.A.U. and it’s Chairmen. A department of A.A.U. weightlifting was a member of  F.I.H.C. (F.I.H., Federation Internationale Halterophile; after 1972 I.W.F., International Weightlifting Federation”). At the same time the F.I.H.C. was a member of the I.O.C. (International Olympic Committee). Since 1947 until 1969 F.I.H.C. ruled official World bodybuilding sport. No one other International bodybuilding organization could even try to lead the World bodybuilding. We mean structures like N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) association and at that time private I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) company. Though the owners of the I.F.B.B. WEIDER brothers JOE and BEN everywhere copied BOB HOFFMAN’s work they had no chances to win. Behind BOB HOFFMAN was the A.A.U. and the F.I.H.C.. Today I.F.B.B. sport historians diminish the work of BOB HOFFMAN in the World’s bodybuilding development because of envy.
In 1959 the F.I.H.C. World weightlifting championship was held in Warszawa (capital of the People’s Republic of Poland). Traditionally since 1947 during every  World weightlifting championship F.I.H.C. organized the World Bodybuilding Championship (“Universe”). It was BOB HOFFMAN who first brought bodybuilding to the Socialist World. First time in the sport history in Warszawa socialist people saw bodybuilders and got really acquainted to bodybuilding. In 1959 the Over All F.I.H.C. “Mr. Universe” was French bodybuilder GUY MIERCZUK.
As F.I.H.C. was the I.O.C. member bodybuilding was understood of two parts – body presentation and physical exercises. We know from sport history that power exercises were used at the competitions in Socialist countries until ninetees of the last century. Czechoslovakia bodybuilders did it even longer.
Nobody had idea why bodybuilding competitions had power exercises. Most thought that during the prohibition of bodybuilding Socialist bodybuilders did power exercises to make negativeness of political Governments not so strong. Nobody thought that all National Weightlifting Federations were members of F.I.H.C. and I.O.C.. All respected the official status of the F.I.H.C. organization and along the weightlifting recognized bodybuilding too. This was how power exercises came and remained in bodybuilding contests so long.
Since that time bodybuilding was growing fastly in the Socialist World. But in 1973 due to political reasions Communist Governments prohibited bodybuilding. Always at the bodybuilding contests power exercises had equal value with the demonstration of the body. It was the reason that after the 1959 F.I.H.C. „Mr. Universe“ weightlifters often participated at the bodybuilding competitions.

WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY.
Everybody was afraid to be punished.

EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS had meetings with the President of the Czechoslovakia National Bodybuilding Federation VOJTECH FIALA.
HOW MOSCOW PERMITED “AMBER PRIX INTERNATIONAL”.
All bodybuilders of the Socialist Countries were looking for the ways to stop prohibition of bodybuilding. But no one dared to do anything in real.
Communicating with the President of the National Bodybuilding Federation of Czechoslovakia VOJTECH FIALA DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS had some ideas to solve the question.
We were speaking before about the ways to escape bodybuilding prohibition in Czechoslovakia and Estonian SSR. Presenting bodybuilding as a “National Kind of Sport” Estonians were organizing the “Georg Tenno Memorial” («Мемориал Георга Тенно», 1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estonian SSR).
Constantly Soviet press was writing awful and bad articles about bodybuilding. DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS started his 5 years long lasting correspondence with the communist press and the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport (U.S.S.R. Gockomsport, Госкомспорт С.С.С.Р.). The main “enemy” of bodybuilding was Russian weightlifter and journalist DMITRIJ IVANOV (Дмитрий Иванов) from “Sovetskij sport” («Советский спорт»).  Getting nothing positive of the correspondence and fighting for bodybuilding sport DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS  wrote a long “petition”. He personally brought this petition and presented at the Offices of the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist Party (ЦК коммунистической партии СССР), the U.S.S.R. Ministry Council (Совет министров СССР), daily newspapers “Pravda” («Правда»), “Izvestija” («Известия») and “Sovetskij Sport”. All of them were informed that the “petition” was presented to all listed addresses.
No one supported DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS ideas and works. On the way to Moscow DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS  visited the Ministry of Sport of the Lithuanian SSR and spoke with the Minister ZIGMAS MOTIEKAITIS (Зигмас Мотекайтис). The Minister asked DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS   no to go to Moscow. The President of the National Bodybuilding Federation of the Lithuanian SSR ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS (Романас Калинаускас) said: “I will not risk my Communist Party membership. All You do is Your own risk”.
How it was happening later we will explain in the other part of this Article. The part is named “1978 “Amber Prix International” (“Gintarinis prizas”, «Янтарный приз», 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Lithuanian Republic).

ONLY THREE CONTESTS HAD HISTORIC STRATEGIC VALUE.

VOJTECH FIALA from Czechoslovakia had broken the „Iron Wall“ and first time in sport‘s history PETER STACH won the Europe Champion‘s title)
THE BACKGROUND.
UNIQUE „AMBER PRIX INTERNATIONAL“.
The „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз», 1968 – 2022 m. , Klaipeda, Republic Lithuania) was and still is a unique happening. It needs to be studied thoroughly by the specialists of the sport history. There is no othre international contest in the World which is so much connected with the World history.
The „Amber Prix International“ is the oldest traditional competition after the N.A.B.B.A.  (National Amateur Body Building Association) „Mr. Universe“ that is held in the UK since 1950.
We will touch the folowing topics while telling stories about the „Amber Prix International“:
-       During the twenty years lasting prohibition of bodybuilding sport the „Amber Prix International“ together with the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ („Мемориал Георга Тенно», 1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estonian SSR) were the only ones regular International bodybuilding competitions in the U.S.S.R. and all Socialist countries.
-       The possibility to organize open bodybuilding contests in other places came when in 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS won the fight for bodybuilding against the Highest Communist Institutions of the U.S.S.R.
-       In 1986 during the „Amber Prix International“ in Klaipeda leaders of the U.S.S.R. bodybuilding agreed about the future plans to set the U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding federation and the ways how to develop bodybuilding
-       There were some records. In 1990 at the „Amber Prix International“ participated 89 teams and there were over 50 participants in each category
-       Together with the „Amber Prix International“  in 1990 and in 1991 official U.S.S.R. junior Championships were held
-       Ending the nineties of the last century the Ministry of Sport of the U.S.S.R. (U.S.S.R. Goskomsport, Госкомспорт С.С.С.Р.) named the „Amber Prix International“  as „unofficial USSR Championship“ неофициальный Чемпионат С.С.С.Р.) and started presenting names of the „Sport master of the U.S.S.R.“ («Мастер спорта С.С.С.Р.») to the winners of the „Amber Prix International“
-       During the history the Chairmen of our competitions  were Prime Ministers of the Republic Lithuania, Ministers and Members of the Parliament
-       Celebrating 40 years of the  „Amber Prix International“  in 2008 the Parliament of the Republic Lithuania voted for the State financing of the „Amber Prix International“. The money was placed to the Budget of the Lithuanian Republic.
-       In 2011 the Official Meeting of the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) Interantional President DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS  was organized in Vatican.
Listening about “Amber Prix International” during the years of prohibition of sport in the Socialist Countries Vatican Congregat Perfect J. Em. JOZEF KARDINAL TOMKO evaluated efforts of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and named him as „dissident of the Communist regime“. The Vatican Congregat Perfect J. Em. JOZEF KARDINAL TOMKO presented the Vatican Pontific Medal (Medaglia Ufficiale di Pontificato di Sua Santita Benedetto XVI) to DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS (Headquarters State Vatican, Cita del Vaticano, March 29, 2011).
-       In 2015 a number of Members of Parliament Republic and Government Lithuania were present at the „Amber Prix International“. The High Quest Officials called DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS an „Embassador of the Republic Lithuania in the World“ seeing high level of competition and participating many athletes from Europe, Asia, America and Africa.
