WORLD BODYBUILDING ENCYCLOPEDIA. 1984 SOCIALIST BODYBUILDING NEWS. In 1984 if we compare with 1983 bodybuilding in Socialist countries was really different. There were comparitivelly many contests in the U.S.S.R. as well as in other Socualist countries. We could say the Socialist polititians let bodybuilding live and the prohibition became only formal. But there were definite reasons for this. We would remind that in 1973 bodybuilding in Socialist Countries was prohibited and everyone was afraid to do something positive for bodybuilding. It was extremelly important that in 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS wrote petition to defend bodybuilding. DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS personally brought the petition to Moscow and presented it to the U.S.S.R. highest political institutions including the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist party (Центральный Комитет К.П.С.С. С.С.С.Р.). Due to this the polititians permited to organize in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR) traditional „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023). 1978 „Amber Prix International“ was the first public competition after the prohibition. This contest for ten years became the „unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ («неофициальный чемпионат С.С.С.Р. по культуризму»). Later U.S.S.R. Ministry of sport (МинистерствоспортаС.С.С.Р.) confirmed this and started to present for „Amber Prix International“ Champions titles of „U.S.S.R. Sport Master“ „МастерспортаС.С.С.Р.»). Best U.S.S.R. bodybuilders used to participate at the „Amber Prix International“ every year. Year by year bodybuilding contests were held in other places too. This way step by step other U.S.S.R. countries and places started pointing to their local polititions towards Klaipeda competitions and this way organizing public contests too. The winners of 1984 „Amber Prix International“ were Lithuanians VIKTORAS JUCYS (Juniors) and VINCAS DUBICKAS (Main Categories). Next by the importance after the „Amber Prix International“ was „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», Tallinn, Estonian SSR, 1971 – 1989). The Over All Winners of the 1984 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ were the Estonians BILYK VLADIMIR ((Владимир Билык), Juniors) and KOSENKO PAVEL (Павел Косенко), Main Categories). A few years in a row the „Comsomol Cup“ («Кубок комсомола», „Komjaunimo taurė“) was organized in Kaunas (Lithuanian SSR). Thirty bodybuilders from Latvian SSR, Estonian SSR, Lithuanian SSR, Ukrainian SSR and R.S.F.S.R. took part at the 1984 event. The Category Winners were: Juniors NAUDZIUS RIGARDAS (Lithuanian SSR), BILYK VLADIMIR, CHILCENKO JAKOV (Яков Хильченко, R.S.F.S.R.) and in the Main Categories POLIAKOV STANISLAV (Станислав Поляков, Latvian SSR), KAPCEVICIUS VLADAS (Lithuanian SSR), MASLOV OLEG (Олег Маслов, R.S.F.S.R.), AJU ARKADIJ (Аркадий Аю, Estonian SSR). The Over All Winners were VLADIMIR BILYK ir STANISLAV POLIAKOV. Also in 1984 two competitions were organized in Charkov (Ukrainian SSR). The organizer was ARKADIJ KASANSKIJ (Аркадий Кашанский). The first one was the „Cup of U.S.S.R. Cities“ («Кубок городов С.С.С.Р.»). It was devoted to the political „Victory Day“ («День победы»). Bodybuilders from the Lithuanian SSR, R.S.F.S.R. and Ukrainian SSR took part at the event. The Over All Winners were VILTORAS JUCYS (Juniors, Lithuanian SSR) and ALEKSANDR IVANIUK (Александр Иванюк, Main Categories, R.S.F.S.R.). Another 1984 competition in Charkov was of the same name. Folowing Kaunas organizers a famous contemporary poet and drama writer VITALIJ ASOVSKIJ (Виталий Асовский) organized the „Comsomol Cup“ in Vilnius in 1984. We would like to remind that after due to his illness the Chairman of the famous „Vilnius Bodybuilding School“ („Vilniaus kultūrizmo mokykla“, «Вильнюсская школа культуризма»)CESLAV TAMULEVIC (Чеслав Тамулевич) left the sport, VITALIJ ASOVSKIJ took the School leadership. Bodybuilders of various U.S.S.R. Countries used to come to Vilnius to study bodybuilding. Ukrainian VALRTIJ LUTCAK was among them. Seventeen bodybuilders from Lithuanian SSR, Ukrainian SSR and Belorussian SSR took part at the 1984 „Comsomol Cup“ in Vilnius. The Category Winners were SAULIUS MISEVICIUS (Lithuanian SSR) and Czechoslovaks ANTONAS SHARAJ (Anton Šaraj), ANTON HOLIC and ALOIS PEK. We write much about the Socialist bodybuilding which is still unknown to most of You. In the „West“ the situation in our sport was like this: After the WWII World Official Bodybuilding Sport was rulled by American BOB HOFFMAN (Robert Collins Hoffman, 1898 - 1985 m.) through I.O.C. (International Olympic Committee) member F.I.H.C. (Federation Internationale Halterophile et Culturiste). It lasted from 1947 until 1969 when F.I.H.C. refused to guide bodybuilding sport. In 1970 F.I.H.C. General Secretary British OSCAR STATE used JOE and BEN WEIDER brothers money and practical work and established the I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) Sport Federation in Belgrade (Yugoslavia). Until this time I.F.B.B. was not a federation but a private company only. Since 1947 until 1969 no other bodybuilding sport organization could confront F.I.H.C. as behind it was I.O.C.. This was about bodybuilding sport. All of them issued bodybuilding magazines. At the same time hiding behind F.I.H.C. of BOB HOFFMAN N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) ruled bodybuilding in Europe. Most was done due to the effоrts of the N.A.B.B.A. President OSCAR HEIDENSTAM. In 1948 BOB HOFFMAN organized F.I.H.C. „Mr. Universe“ during the London Olympic Games in London. After creating N.A.B.B.A. in 1950 BOB HOFFMAN used to send famous USA bodybuilders to N.A.B.B.A. „Mr. Universe. At that time only few European bodybuilders could fight with USA Athletes on stage. BOB HOFFMAN popularized bodybuilding in Great Britain. WORLD BODYBUILDING ENCYCLOPEDIA. 1984 SOCIALIST BODYBUILDING NEWS. 1984 „AMBER PRIX INTERNATIONAL“ In 1984 if we compare with 1983 bodybuilding in Socialist countries was really different. There were comparitivelly many contests in the U.S.S.R. as well as in other Socualist countries. We could say the Socialist polititians let bodybuilding live and the prohibition became only formal. But there were definite reasons for this. We would remind that in 1973 bodybuilding in Socialist Countries was prohibited and everyone was afraid to do something positive for bodybuilding. It was extremelly important that in 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS wrote petition to defend bodybuilding. DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS personally brought the petition to Moscow and presented it to the U.S.S.R. highest political institutions including the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist party (Центральный Комитет К.П.С.С. С.С.С.Р.). Due to this the polititians permited to organize in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR) traditional „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023). 1978 „Amber Prix International“ was the first public competition after the prohibition. This contest for ten years became the „unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ («неофициальный чемпионат С.С.С.Р. по культуризму»). Later U.S.S.R. Ministry of sport (МинистерствоспортаС.С.С.Р.) confirmed this and started to present for „Amber Prix International“ Champions titles of „U.S.S.R. Sport Master“ „МастерспортаС.С.С.Р.»). Best U.S.S.R. bodybuilders used to participate at the „Amber Prix International“ every year. Year by year bodybuilding contests were held in other places too. This way step by step other U.S.S.R. countries and places started pointing to their local polititions towards Klaipeda competitions and this way organizing public contests too. The winners of 1984 „Amber Prix International“ were Lithuanians VIKTORAS JUCYS (Juniors) and VINCAS DUBICKAS (Main Categories). Next by the importance after the „Amber Prix International“ was „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», Tallinn, Estonian SSR, 1971 – 1989). The Over All Winners of the 1984 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ were the Estonians BILYK VLADIMIR ((Владимир Билык), Juniors) and KOSENKO PAVEL (Павел Косенко), Main Categories). A few years in a row the „Comsomol Cup“ («Кубок комсомола», „Komjaunimo taurė“) was organized in Kaunas (Lithuanian SSR). Thirty bodybuilders from Latvian SSR, Estonian SSR, Lithuanian SSR, Ukrainian SSR and R.S.F.S.R. took part at the 1984 event. The Category Winners were: Juniors NAUDZIUS RIGARDAS (Lithuanian SSR), BILYK VLADIMIR, CHILCENKO JAKOV (Яков Хильченко, R.S.F.S.R.) and in the Main Categories POLIAKOV STANISLAV (Станислав Поляков, Latvian SSR), KAPCEVICIUS VLADAS (Lithuanian SSR), MASLOV OLEG (Олег Маслов, R.S.F.S.R.), AJU ARKADIJ (Аркадий Аю, Estonian SSR). The Over All Winners were VLADIMIR BILYK ir STANISLAV POLIAKOV. Also in 1984 two competitions were organized in Charkov (Ukrainian SSR). The organizer was ARKADIJ KASANSKIJ (Аркадий Кашанский). The first one was the „Cup of U.S.S.R. Cities“ («Кубок городов С.С.С.Р.»). It was devoted to the political „Victory Day“ («День победы»). Bodybuilders from the Lithuanian SSR, R.S.F.S.R. and Ukrainian SSR took part at the event. The Over All Winners were VILTORAS JUCYS (Juniors, Lithuanian SSR) and ALEKSANDR IVANIUK (Александр Иванюк, Main Categories, R.S.F.S.R.). Another 1984 competition in Charkov was of the same name. The Category Winners were JUCYS VIKTORAS, LUTCAK VALERIJ (Валерий Лутцак, Ukrainian SSR), LINAS BALTRIMAVICIUS, RAIMONDAS PETRAITIS. All Winners were from Lithuanian SSR but VALERIJ LUTCAK. The over All Winners were VIKTORAS JUCYS ir VALERIJ LUTCAK. Folowing Kaunas organizers a famous contemporary poet and drama writer VITALIJ ASOVSKIJ (Виталий Асовский) organized the „Comsomol Cup“ in Vilnius in 1984. We would like to remind that after due to his illness the Chairman of the famous „Vilnius Bodybuilding School“ („Vilniaus kultūrizmo mokykla“, «Вильнюсская школа культуризма»)CESLAV TAMULEVIC (Чеслав Тамулевич) left the sport, VITALIJ ASOVSKIJ took the School leadership. Bodybuilders of various U.S.S.R. Countries used to come to Vilnius to study bodybuilding. Ukrainian VALRTIJ LUTCAK was among them. Seventeen bodybuilders from Lithuanian SSR, Ukrainian SSR and Belorussian SSR took part at the 1984 „Comsomol Cup“ in Vilnius. The Junior Category Winners were Lithuanians BALINSKAS REMIGIJUS, BISIKIRSKIJ DMITRIJ (Дмитрий Бессикирский) and the Main Categories won GORELIK EUGENE (Евгений Горелик), SUBACIUS ANTANAS (both of Lithuanian SSR), FEDIUK VLADIMIR (Владимир Федюк, Belorussian SSR) and ZURCEV EUGENE (Евгений Журцев, Lithuanian SSR). Over All Winners were DMITRIJ BISIKIRSKIJ bei EUGENE GORELIK. Also in 1984 another small competitios were organized in Luga (R.S.F.S.R.), Tallinn (Estonian SSR), Vitebsk (Belorussian SSR) and in Ryga (Latvian SSR). In 1984 bodybuilding contests were held in D.D.R. (Deutshces Demokratishe Republik, German Democratic Republic) and in the C.S.S.R. (Czechoslovakian SSR). Traditional Czechoslovakian „Trener“ competition was organized in Trnava City. The Category Winners were SAULIUS MISEVICIUS (Lithuanian SSR) and Czechoslovaks ANTONAS SHARAJ (Anton Šaraj), ANTON HOLIC and ALOIS PEK. WHO IN U.S.S.R. COULD THINK ON INTERNATIONAL LEVEL? ROLE OF PERSONALITY IN LIFE AND SPORT. Everyone‘s personality depends on many items. One of them is – basing on which position a personality analizes all happenings. We mean bodybuilders, of course. Do you think of this as a sportsman, as a trainer or organizer or you think as an International Leader? Specialists of our sport scrutinize the same documents and the same basics but everybody of them evaluate the same items on a different way. Then we may look if this specialist is of a local level or he represents the International one. The specialist must get himself above the happenings of his time and he must look on everything like a flying bird high in the sky. Otherwise he can not understand waht is going on. In the U.S.S.R. there were only few personalities who could think wide in the very beginning of bodybuilding. The representatives of various regions of the U.S.S.R. mostly were thinking in a narrow way. For example, Tiumen gym trainer JEVGENIJ KOLTUN (ЕвгенийКолтун, R.S.F.S.R.) always represented a gym level and nothing more. The same was with a Kaliningrad trainer JURIJ SMOLIAKOV (ЮрийСмоляков, R.S.F.S.R.) and with a Severodvinsk trainer the U.S.S.R. Champion ALEKSANDR LEMECHOV (Александр Лемехов, R.S.F.S.R.). The same was with a Leningrad gym trainer VLADIMIR DUBININ (ВладимирДубинин, R.S.F.S.R.). A representative of Riga (Latvian SSR) FELIKS SAJKOVSKIJ (ФеликсСайковский) and nearly all representatives of the Lithuanian SSR were on the same local level of understanding. There were no more active bodybuilding organizers in the U.S.S.R. at that time but only those we mentioned only. The exception could be the General Secretary of the formal „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.») ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS (РоманасКалинаускас). How we can understand this „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ when bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. is prohibited? It had totally no power. But unfortunatelly all activities of ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS were done through intrigues and blackmailing of his sport friends to the Communist political powers. Knowing no foreign languages ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS was separated from the World and could not understand the International process. Another exceptional person was INNAR MARDO (ИннарМардо, 1946 – 2002, Tallinn, Estonian SSR). He also did not know any foreign language and worked only in Estonia. Even to do anything on the U.S.S.R. level he had no interest. But on regular basis organized by INNAR MARDO „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («МемориалГеоргаТенно», 1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estonian SSR) contests gave him a huge prestige and respect of others. One more exception was DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. During the period of bodybuilding prohibition he organized illegal „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023, Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR) contests in 1974, 1975, 1976 and in 1977. Wishing to defend bodybuilding sport DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS for several years was in correspondence with the Ministry of Sport of the U.S.S.R. („U.S.S.R. Goskomsport“,ГоскомспортС.С.С.Р.). Finally received from the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport a negatyve answer DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS wrote a bodybuilding defending petition and personally brought it to Moscow. He presented the petition to the highest U.S.S.R. political powers: to the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist Party (Центральный Комитет Коммунистической партии С.С.С.Р.), to the U.S.S.R. Supreme Council (Верховный Совет С.С.С.Р.) and to the U.S.S.R. Ministry Council (Совет Министров С.С.С.Р.) and to the U.S.S.R. cental political newspapers „Pravda“ («Правда») and „Izvestija“ («Известия»). In 1978 due to the petition of DSc. So who was the bodybuilding Leader in the U.S.S.R.? The very similar to DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS life was of his friends in sport: the President I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) BEN WEIDER, also the similar way of life was of the President N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) OSCAR HEIDENSTAM and W.A.B.B.A. (World Amateur Body Building Association) President SERGE NUBRET. The same similar way was of the General Secretary F.I.H.C. (Federation Internationale Halterophile et Culturiste) International OSCAR STATE. Not knowing foreign languages narrowed possibilities of INNAR MARDO, but DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS assisted and helped him always. ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS did not know any foreign language and he always worked to be close to the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport. To say more he did his best to be close to the U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation (ФедерациятяжёлойатлетикиС.С.С.Р.). That were his top items for respect and loyality. But what he could get out of this when bodybuilding was prohibited in the U.S.S.R.? Just nothing. While studying English and German philology at the Vilnius State University DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS did several attempts to unite gyms of Vilnius City. Nobody else never tried to do this. Anyway bodybuilding was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and bodybuilders were afraid to do anything. WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY. TWO U.S.S.R. BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS. THE BEGINNING. First pioneers of bodybuilding in Russia were weightlifters MARK SHAFRAN (Марк Шафран), ROMAN MOROZ (Роман Мороз), the first in the Socialist Countries World Weightlifting Champion GRIGORIJ NOVAK (Григорий Новак), Estonian GEORG TENNO and GENADIJ BALDIN (Геннадий Балдин). 1966. FIRST SOCIALIST INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION. In 1966 a bodybuilding contest was organized in Moscow (Russia) where the winner was IGOR PETRUCHIN (Игорь Петрухин, Russia). Also in 1966 the first in the Socialist Countries International Bodybuilding competition was organized in Vilnius (Lithuania). The Winners were IGOR PETRUCHIN, RYTIS MACIJAUSKAS and KLEMENSAS ALSHAUSKAS (both Lithuania); second places won Russian GENADIJ BALDIN, Lithuanians CESLAV TAMULEVICH (ЧеславТамулевич) and ANATOLIJ PRIC (АнатолийПриц); third places went to Russian MARK SHAFRAN and Lithuanians RIMANTAS ZUJUS and ALGIMANTAS RAMANAUSKAS. TRADITIONAL BODYBUILDING CONTESTS. During the bodybuilding prohibition in the Socialist World (1973 – 1987) only few brave persons dared to organize competitions. There were only two regular International Bodybuilding Contests in all Socialist World: the „Amber Prix International“ (1968 – 2023, „Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз») organized in Lithuania by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and „Georg Tenno Memorial“ (1971 – 1989, «МемориалГеоргаТэнно») organized in Estonia by INNAR MARDO (1946 – 2002). TWO OFFICIAL U.S.S.R. CHAMPIONSHIPS. Just before the prohibition and prosecution of bodybuilding in the Socialist World the 1971 and 1972 U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championships („Чемпионат С.С.С.Р.“) were held. We would like to remind that since 1947 until 1969 the World‘s Official Bodybuilding was ruled by the International Weightlifting Federation F.I.H.C.. F.I.H.C. was a member of the International Olympic Committee. All bodybuilding contests were of two parts: the power exercises and posing. In the Socialist Countries this tradition remained during all years of the prohibition of bodybuilding. Prosecuted by Governments and press bodybuilder were hiding themselves behind the power exercises. FIRST U.S.S.R. BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIP. The first U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship was held in 1971 in Russia Severodvinsk City. The Over All Champion was a Russian Severodvinsk Athlete ALEKSANDR LEMECHOV (Александр Лемехов), representing Leningrad City VLADIMIR DUBININ (Владимир Дубинин) was at the second place and at the third place was Russian VLADIMIR CHOMULIOV (Владимир Хомулёв). SECOND U.S.S.R. BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIP. In 1972 the second U.S.S.R. bodybuilding Championship was held in Russia City Sverdlovsk. The representatives of six countries of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania participated at the event. In the short category the Winner was VLADIMIR LIPJAINEN (Владимир Липьянен), the second place went to BORIS ZITKOV (Борис Житков), the third place went to DMITRIJ CHANEV (Дмитрий Чанев), all from Russia. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) International unites 140 Country – Members and organizes nearly 60 annual Amateur and Professional International Events World Wide. Looking from the juridical point of view the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International is no doubt the Real World Bodybuilding Leader. We mean sport, not festivals. DATE CHANGED: On April 27, 2024 the 39-th „World Grand Prix“will be organized in historic Kandava City (Republic of Latvia). 1985. SOCIALIST BODYBUILDING NEWS. The prohibition of bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. and Socialist countries lasted from 1973 until 1987. In 1987 in Kubenka (R.S.F.S.R.) was established the official „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.»). The prosecution of bodybuilding was so fierce in 1977. Клайпеда») that was represented by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS? The answer is – until 1987 „Klaipeda Bodybuilding federation“ was the only one official federation in the U.S.S.R.. All other bodybuilding units were not registered officially and worked more or less illegal. And DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was the only one among the U.S.S.R. bodybuilders who knew foreign languages. Through communication of the mentioned persons long lasting friendly relations were built. In 1985 traditionally the most important bodybuilding comopetition in the USSR was the „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023). That was the „Unofficial U.S.S.R. SHORT HISTORY OF BODYBUILDING SEMINARS. 2023. SEMINAR FOR ACTIVE LITHUANIA BODYBUILDING SPECIALISTS. 1986. U.S.S.R. FIRST SEMINAR FOR BODYBUILDERS. Since 1978 until 1987 the „Amber Prix International („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023) was the „Unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ („Neoficialus T.S.R.S. kultūrizmo čempionatas“). During the 1986 competition representatives of the U.S.S.R. Sport Ministry (U.S.S.R. Goskomsport) organized the first in sport history seminar for the U.S.S.R. bodybuilders in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR). 1987 PUBLIC BODYBUILDING SEMINAR FOR KLAIPEDA CITIZEN. In 1987 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS organized public bodybuilding seminar – discussion for Klaipeda Citizen. It was held at the Congress Hall of Klaipeda Sea Port Palace and it lasted for two days in a row. The hall was full of participants. The attendants were collected through the advertisment in the main Klaipeda City newspaper. 1994. FIRST LITHUANIAN REPUBLIC BODYBUILDING SEMINAR. In May, 1991 the first in the new sport history National Bodybuilding Association (L.N.K.A., Lietuvos nacionalinė kultūrizmo asociacija) was established by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS in the Republic of Lithuania. It was suppoprted by the Ministry of Sport of the Lithuanian Republic (Kūno kultūros ir sporto departamentas prie LRV) and the National Olympic Commitee (Tautinis Olimpinis Komitetas). In 1994 the federation organized the first seminar for bodybuilding specialists. 1999 FIRST INTERNATIONAL BODYBUILDING SEMINAR. In 1999 W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) International organized the first International Bodybuilding Seminar in Daugavpils (Latvian Republic). 2015. FIRST SEMINAR OF INTERNATIONAL SPORT UNIVERSITY. In 2015 the International Sport University (I.S.U.) was registered in the Lithuanian Republic. In 2015 the first International Seminar for sport specialists was organized in Klaipeda. Since 2017 the I.S.U. is an Associated Member of the U.N.E.S.C.O.. 2023. U.N.E.S.C.O. WOMEN FITNESS SHORT HISTORY. GREAT STARS OF WORLD FITNESS. Today everybody knows that OKSANA GRISINA (Оксана Гришина, Russian Federation) is the conteporary World Fitness Leader. Just now she won Pro „Olympia“ contest and it was done maybe ten times in a row. But anyhow World Fitness started 100 years ago in the USA. LITHUANIA EMIGRANT CONGUERS AMERICA. It was Emigrant of Lithuania BRONE DUBAR (Broné “Brownie” Dubar, Daubaraitė, 1906 – 1986) who came with her family to the USA in 1912. When her sport achievements went high she started public shows. Specialists use to call her „World Fitness Pioneer“ but in her times there was no any fitness sport at all. To say more – women sport was included to „Olympics“ only in 1920. This was the reason that 100 years ago gymnastic and acrobatic exercises of BRONE DUBAR were not named as „sport“. Aiming to make fitness propaganda BRONE DUBAR made her shows through all USA – from South to North and from West to East. FIRST OVER ALL WORLD FITNESS CHAMPION. Lithuanian EDITA SENDRIENE (Daubaraite, Dubar) was the ground ground ground daughter of BRONE DUBAR. From the childhood attending balely and gymnastic schools she visited a N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) Show in Malta. EDITA SENDRIENE liked performances of some „Miss Figure“ participants. Returned to Lithuania she decided to train and participate at sport competitions. Everything was ok. In 1996 the founders of the W.F.F. - International (World Fitness Federation) DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and German KLAUS P.J. HOFFMANN started World Fitness Championships in Kaizerslautern (Germany). This way in 1997 in Manheim (Germany) EDITA SENDRIENE became the Over All World Fitness Champion. „Eurosport“ Television amde several reports about this. The Sport Ministry of Lithuanian Republic wanted to present EDITA SENDRIENE a Governmental Award but envy and intrigues among sport federations ruined this idea. SECOND AND THIRD OVER ALL WORLD FITNESS CHAMPIONS. After the victory of EDITA SENDRIENE the next two talanted World „Fitness Stars“ became the I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) Over All World Fitness Champions. That were MARIETA ZIGALOVA (Republic Slovakia) and ALEKSANDRA KOBIELAK (Republic Poland). For many years on both Athletes were representing their Countries at the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) World and Europe Fitness Championships. WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY. WHO AND HOW CREATED „U.S.S.R. BODYBUILDING FEDERATION“. We reached the year of 1986 working on the second book of the „World Body Building Encyclopedia“ („Pasaulio kultūrizmo enciklopedija“, «Энциклопедиявсемирногокультуризма»). We will publishe special report about who and how created the „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.») in 1987. The new federation was recognized by the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport (U.S.S.R. Goskomsport, МинистерствоспортаС.С.С.Р., ГоскомспортС.С.С.Р.). Until this everybody was satisfied with the „formal U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Fdederation“ (U.S.S.R. Another one Contest in Kaunas was organized first time - the „Over All Winners Cup“. 12 bodybuilders of Estonian SSR, Lithuanian SSR, Belorussian SSR and R.S.F.S.R. took part at the event. The first three places were taken by SAULIUS MISEVICIUS, VINCAS DUBICKAS ir ALGIRDAS IVANAUSKAS (all from Lithuanian SSR). In 1985 ARKADIJ KASANSKIJ (АркадийКашанский) went on organizing competitions in Charkov (Ukrainian SSR). This time 25 bodybuilders from Lithuanian SSR, R.S.F.S.R. and Ukrainian SSR took part at the competition. The Over All Winners were VIKTORAS JUCYS (Juniors) and VALERIJ LUTCAK (Валерий Лутцак, Main categories, Ukrainian SSR). First time competition was organized in Kronstadt (Кронштадт, R.S.F.S.R.). The Over All Winner was BORIS RAJEV (БорисРаев) from R.S.F.S.R.. Also in 1985 local contests were held in Latvian SSR, Belorussian SSR and Estonian SSR. In 1985 Czechoslovakian SSR held two traditional competitions ‚ „Sandow“ and „Trener“. The Category Winners of „Trener“ Contest were VINCAS DUBICKAS (Lithuanian SSR) and Czechoslovaks ANTON HOLIC, JAN CERNY, MILAN ROLINEC. Supported by the Sport Ministry of the Czechoslovakian SSR bodybuilders of this Country went on participating at the I.F.B.B. World and Europe Championships. They were the only ones from all Socialist World. Other Countries had strong Communist restrictions. In 1985 as well as in the previous 1984 European Champion‘s title went to MIROSLAV JASTERBSKI. By the way, former best U.S.S.R. bodybuilder OLEV ANNUS (Estonian SSR) emigrated to Finland. Then at the same 1985 I.F.B.B. Europe Championship he was second in his category. 1985 „GEORG TENNO MEMORIAL“ At the competition participated 47 bodybuilders from the Lithuanian SSR, Latvian SSR, Estonian SSR, R.S.F.S.R., Belorussian SSR and Ukrainian SSR. 1985. SOCIALIST BODYBUILDING NEWS. 1985 „AMBER PRIX INTERNATIONAL“ The prohibition of bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. and Socialist countries lasted from 1973 until 1987. In 1987 in Kubenka (R.S.F.S.R.) was established the official „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.»). The prosecution of bodybuilding was so fierce in 1977. Then in 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS (Др. ЭДМУНДАСДАУБАРАС) dared to write bodybuilding defending petition. He personally brought it to Moscow and presenetd to the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist Party (ЦентральныйКомитетКоммунистическойпартииС.С.С.Р.) as well as to other highest U.S.S.R. political institutuins. No one of Socialist bodybuilders supported DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS then. All were afrayed. After this the prosecution of bodybuilders became softer and softer every year. In 1985 bodybuilders in the U.S.S.R. felt more freedom. Everybody felt comming „Perestrojka of Gorbachov“ («ПрерстройкаГорбачёва»). Why for many years on the President of the I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) BEN WEIDER, the Presidents of N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) OSCAR HEIDENSTAM and IVAN DUNBAR, the President of W.A.B.B.A. (World Amateur Body Building Association) SERGE NUBRET were in touch with „Klaipeda Bodybuilding Federagtion“ («Федерациякультуризмаг. Клайпеда») that was represented by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS? The answer is – until 1987 „Klaipeda Bodybuilding federation“ was the only one official federation in the U.S.S.R.. All other bodybuilding units were not registered officially and worked more or less illegal. And DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was the only one among the U.S.S.R. bodybuilders who knew foreign languages. Through communication of the mentioned persons long lasting friendly relations were built. In 1985 traditionally the most important bodybuilding comopetition in the USSR was the „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2023). That was the „Unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ («неофициальный Чемпионат С.С.С.Р. по культуризму»). At the 1985 „Amber Prix International“ participated 56 bodybuilders representing Lithuanian SSR, Latvian SSR, R.S.F.S.R., Belorussian SSR and Ukrainian SSR. The Category Winners at the 1985 „Amber Prix International“ were: juniors - OLEG ZUR (Олег Жур), VIKTORAS JUCYS, LINAS BEKESIUS (all from Lithuanian SSR) and among Main Categories - VINCAS DUBICKAS, VLADAS KAPCEVICIUS, ALGIRDAS IVANAUSKAS bei SAULIUS MISEVICIUS (again all from Lithuanian SSR). Over All Winners were: VIKTORAS JUCYS ir VINCAS DUBICKAS. The second by the importance U.S.S.R. contest was held in Tallinn (Estonian SSR) „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («МемориалГеоргаТенно», 1971 - 1989). 47 bodybuilders from Lithuanian SSR, Latvian SSR, Estonian SSR, Ukrainian SSR, R.S.F.S.R., Belorussian SSR. The Category Winners were: Juniors - ROMAN BEREZOVYJ (Roman Berezovyj, Роман Березовый, Ukrainian SSR) ir RAIN KIMBER (Rein Kimber, Estonian SSR), Main Categories – Estonians INDREK OTSUS (Indrek Otsus), PAVEL KOSENKO (Павел Колсенко), AIN PAAVO ir EDMUNDAS GUDAVICIUS (Lithuanian SSR). Over All Winners were: ROMAN BEREZOVYJ ir INDREK OTSUS. In 1985 it was the last time we saw INNAR MARDO (1946 – 2002) as International Contest organizer. After this he dissapeared until 1996. City of Kaunas (Lithuanian SSR) organized two contests: traditional „Comsomol Cup“ („Komjaunimo taurė“, «Кубок комсомола») and the „Over All Winners Cup“ („Absoliučių čempionų taurė“, «Кубок абсолютных чемпионов»). 24 bodybuilders from P.N.R. (Polska Narodna Respublika), D.D.R. (Deutsches Demokratishe Republik, German Democratic republic), CSSR (Czechoslovakian SSR), R.S.F.S.R., Ukrainian SSR and Lithuanian SSR. That was first time when after 1978 bodybuilders of Czechoslovakian SSR came to the U.S.S.R.. Then in 1978 Secretary of the formal „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ (формальная «ФедерациякультуризмаС.С.С.Р.») ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS due to his envy broke the common bodybuilding competitions in Lithuanian SSR and in Czechoslovakian SSR (read about it in our earlier articles). 2023 NEWS INTERNATIONAL. NOMINATION NATIONAL PRESIDENT W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. MACEDONIA. Today the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) International unites 140 Country – Members and organizes nearly 60 annual Amateur and Professional International Events World Wide. Looking from the juridical point of view the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International is no doubt the Real World Bodybuilding Leader. W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. does not makes festivals, it works for official sport. On December 3, 2023 Danov Pancho was appointed to the position of the National President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F.Republic Macedonia.
The International W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. federation gives all rights to the National Federation W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. Republic Macedonia to develop fitness and bodybuilding on professional and conditional levels. This nomination is valued until January 1, 2025.

FIRST IN SPORT HISTORY OFFICIAL RECOGNIZED INTERNATIONAL BODYBUILDING FEDERATION WAS CREATED IN U.S.S.R.. HISTORIC F.I.H.C. BODYBUILDING „MR. UNIVERSE“ CONTESTS. WORLD BODYBUILDING ENCYCLOPEDIA. Today the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) International unites 140 Country – Members and organizes nearly 60 annual Amateur and Professional International Events World Wide. Looking from the juridical point of view the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International is no doubt the Real World Bodybuilding Leader. Crowning it‘s 50 years of International Bodybuilding activities, the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. works on the Unique Global International Bodybuilding Project - the „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ («Энциклопедиявсемирногокультуризма», “Pasaulio kultūrizmo enciklopedija”). HISTORIC F.I.H.C. BODYBUILDING „MR. UNIVERSE“ CONTESTS. Since 1947 until 1969 a member of the I.O.C. (International Olympic Committee)International Weightlifting Federation F.I.H.C. (previor F.I.H., Federation Internationale Halterophile) rulled the World‘s official bodybuilding sport and organized International bodybuilding contests. 2024 . W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. SOUTH AMERICA. W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. BRAZIL AIMS TO HOST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. Today since 1968 uniting 140 Country-members W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. 1986. SOCIALIST BODYBUILDING NEWS. WHO AND HOW INFLUENCED CREATION OF „U.S.S.R. BODYBUILDING FEDERATION“. It comes more freedom in 1986. Bodybuilding is more popular. More and more people were somehow connected and involved in bodybuilding. The time comes closer when in 1987 the recognized by the „U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport“ (U.S.S.R. Goskomsport, Министерство спорта С.С.С.Р., Госкомспорт С.С.С.Р.) the „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federattion“ («Федерация культуризма С.С.С.Р.») was created. The prohibition and prosecution of bodybuilding in Socialist Countries became formal. In 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS (Др. ЭдмундасДаубарас) dared to write bodybuilding defending petition. He personally brought it to Moscow and presenetd to the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist Party (ЦентральныйКомитетКоммунистическойпартииС.С.С.Р.) as well as to other highest U.S.S.R. political institutions. No one of Socialist bodybuilders supported DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS then. All were afrayed to be prosecuted. After the petition the prosecution of bodybuilders became softer and softer every year. Until 1986 during the last years it was VLADIMIR SUBOV (ВладимирШубов) who represented the R.S.F.S.R. at the International Contests in the Lithuanian SSR and in the Estonian SSR. He was in constant contacts with the „U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport“. To keep the contacts on VLADIMIR SUBOV rented a room at the Headquarters of the Ministry. WHO AND HOW INFLUENCED CREATION OF „U.S.S.R. BODYBUILDING FEDERATION“. How appeared the idea to create the „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ which will be recognized by the „U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport“? Why the contemporary President of the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) International DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS made huge efforts to return back to sport a former U.S.S.R. bodybuilding star VLADIMIR DUBININ (ВладимирДубинин)? Finally DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS brought him to the 1986 „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарный приз», 1968 – 2023) in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR). To the 1986 „Amber Prix International“ VLADIMIR DUBININ came as a representative of Leningrad (now St. Petersburg, Ленинград) City as the R.S.F.S.R. was already represented by the above mentioned VLADIMIR SUBOV. This way after twelve years beak VLADIMIR DUBININ was back to the active sport. In the seventies of the last Century VLADINIR DUBININ was a huge impressive bodybuilder. In contests he lost only to OLEV ANNUS (Estonian SSR) and PRANAS MURAUSKAS (Lithuanian SSR). He could fight with the athletes like ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER if he could leave the U.S.S.R. to a Contest in the „Western World“ then. But borders of the U.S.S.R. were closed by the „Iron Wall“. The fact is – until the 1986 meeting at the appartments of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS nobody in the U.S.S.R. had any idea about the new „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“. Everybody was satisfied with the „formal U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ (Comission, «Visasąjunginės atletinės gimnastikos komisijos») which was since 1979 a part of the „U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation («ФедерациятяжёлойатлетикиС.С.С.Р.»). Why DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was so much unsatisfied with the above mentioned „formal U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“? This „formal federation“ started working in 1979 right after when in 1978 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS brought his bodybuilding defending petition to the Central Committee of the U.S.S.R. Communist Party. The „formal federation“ was run by the Chairman a R.S.F.S.R. Weightlifter ROMAN MOROZ (РоманМороз). The Secretary of it was ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS. ROMAN MOROZ was not interested in bodybuilding at all so the governing of the „formal federation“ was done by ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS. Also several loyal to ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS persons were included in the organization. In 1983 after graduating his second University by the speciality of Law DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS wanted more. According the U.S.S.R. law he aimed to bodybuilding recognition as sport. The example to follow was evident - it was the «National Bodybuilding Federation of the Czechoslovakian SSR». C.S.S.R. Government supported bodybuilders and since 1975 they had possibilities to participate at the International Competitions in the „Western Countries“. Since 1975 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS had personal relations with the Chairmen of the C.S.S.R. Bodybulding Federation. He used to visit the C.S.S.R. Ministry of Spiort (C.S.T.V., Československy Svaz Telesne Vychvy“) several times. Let us step aside a bit and speak about the International Law in sports. Even today nearly all International Bodybuilding Federations are in problems with law, with registration of federations. After analyzing the documents of most International Federations DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS can state that the N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association), the W.A.B.B.A. (World Amateur Body Building Association), the German Part of the W.F.F. (W.F.F. – International, World Fitness Federation) were and still are in problems with the International law. This was the reason that in 1999 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS made official registration of the W.F.F. – International and in 2005 the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International. Do You want to know EVERYTHING“ about any federation? (see detailed articles on the International Site www.wff.lt ). Being back to the „formal U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ we would like to remind several facts. For two years DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS together with the Chairman of the „C.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ VOJTECH FIALA was working on a common Project. The Project covered two International Contests between the National Bodybuilding Teams of the U.S.S.R. and the C.S.S.R.. One Contest was to be held in Klaipeda (Lithuanian SSR) and another in the C.S.S.R.. When ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS learned that the idea and the work done by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS he ruinerd the plans. Also basing on his ego he ruined and tried to ruin sport careers of famous bodybuilders ALBERTAS REMEIKA, JURIJ GUSEV (Юрий Гусев), ROLANDAS BUCINSKAS, SAULIUS MISEVICIUS, and in 1987 again SAULIUS MISEVICIUS and VIKTORAS JUCYS. ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS learned that OLEV ANNUS (Estonian SSR) wants to leave the U.S.S.R. and emigrante to Finland. For political reasons at the 1981 „Amber Prix International“ ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS forced the judges not to give Over All Winners title to OLEV ANNUS. This way the Winner was SAULIUS MISEVICIUS. After the 1986 „Amber prix International“ to develop idea of a new „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS invited most important representatives of the R.S.F.S.R VLADIMIR SUBOV and VLADIMIR DUBININ to his appartments. Also an active Contest organizer ARKADIJ KASANSKIJ (Аркадий Кашанский, Ukrainian SSR) was invited too. VLADIMIR SUBOV took his Russian bodybuilder GEORGIJ MOSALIOV (Георгий Мосалёв) to the meeting as well. Only a close friend of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS the most important bodybuilding organizer from Tallinn (Estonian SSR) INNAR MARDO (Иннар Мардо, 1946 – 2002) was missing. In 1986 for several years he stopped his activities in sport. Building the new federation the main techical work had to be done by the officials of the R.S.F.S.R.. The idea of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was to use their connections in the „U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport“ and in the „U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation“. They lived in the R.S.F.S.R. and it was more easy for them to reach Moscow. They did it through the same mentioned above ROMAN MOROZ and through VASILIJ CAIKOVSKIJ (Василий Чайковский). VASILIJ CAIKOVSKIJ was working at the „Leningrad Institute of Sctientific Sport Resurches “ (Л.Н.И.И.Ф.К., Ленинградском научно исследовательском институте физической культуры). He appeared in bodybuilding in 1986. So DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS told about his idea of a new „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ to VLADIMIR SUBOV and VLADIMIR DUBININ. This was some kind of shock to them but they agreed to start working. The 1986 „Amber Prix International“ ended with a banquet after which most influental U.S.S.R. bodybuilding persons gathered at DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS appartments. All of them discussed about the future of the U.S.S.R. bodybuilding, about the coming recognition of bodybuilding sport in the U.S.S.R. and about the nearest steps organizing new „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“. They spoke about the bodybuilding situation in the World and in the Socialist Countries. The participants of the meeting decided about the next meeting. It had to be during the coming 1987 „White Nights“ («Белыеночи») Contest in Leningrad. The last steps towards the new „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ had to be done there. Right after the meeting in Klaipeda the mentioned R.S.F.S.R. officials started their work. During 1986 and 1987 there were emotional discussions about the matter in the „U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport“ and in the „U.S.S.R. Weightlifting Federation“ as well. After the 1986 „Amber Prix International“ and before the coming 1978 „White Nights“ Competitions DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS with his family as a special guest two times was invited to Leningrad by VLADIMIR DUBININ.
