FIFTY FIVE YEARS HISTORY OF W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. AND I.F.B.B. RELATIONS. WEIDER BROTHERS AND DSC. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. At the moment the W.F.F. - W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) is preparing to publish a historical article. The article will cover fifty years lasting relations of the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International (represented by the International President DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS) and the I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders), represented by the I.F.B.B. owners WEIDER brothers JOE and BEN. Today looking through the time passed we see clearly the World bodybuilding history. As for long time the World was divided into two parts this history was developed both in the „West“ side and also in the so called „Socialist World“. Speaking about the DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS and the WEIDER brother‘s relations any can easy see the development of all historically traditional bodybuilding federations. Also we can see the aims of all federations, we can see the real work that was done by these federations on International level. Then there is no need to discuss „which federation is better“. GET TO KNOW WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY. UNIQUE GLOBAL PROJECT - WORLD BODYBUILDING ENCYCLOPEDIA. Today the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International unites 136 Country – Members and organizes nearly 60 anual Am and Pro International Events World Wide. Looking from the juridic point of view the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International is no doubt the Real World Bodybuilding Leader. Crowning it‘s 50 years of International Bodybuilding activities, the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F.) works on the Unique Global International Bodybuilding Project - the „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ («Энциклопедиявсемирногокультуризма»). Covering the period of the last Century only two Historical Bodybuilding Country – Articles –Revues are left to prepere. That are Atricles on Russia and Lithuania. All other Countries that were influencing the International Sport during the last 120 years are already written bu us for the Encyclopedia. The Head of the Encyclopedia working group is the President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. Until now nobody even tried to work on such a huge International Project. To be frank, only few people can do it. There were attempts to name some previous works as „Encyclopedia“ too, but that were not Encyclopedias of Bodybuilding Sport in real (for example, as Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s „Encyclopedia“ was written about himself in person mostly). In real every Encyclopedia covers much wider things. The „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ is based on the fivety years collected Historic Archives of the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International and also on the Archivic Documents presented to us by the Owner and the President of W.A.B.B.A. (World Amateur Body Building Association) SERGE NUBRET (France), the Heads of the UK Public Club N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) OSCAR HEIDENSTAM (England) and IVAN DUNBAR (Ireland), the Owners and Heads of the I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) Commercial Company BEN WEIDER (Canada), PAUL CHUA (Singapore), ALEX BAUER (Austria), JOSE PARDO HIDALGO (Spain). Starting with EUGENE SANDOW our „Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding“ covers the period of nearly 120 years time. It presents over 10 000 known International Bodybuildings Sport Personalities who were very important for the World Bodybuilding Sport during the period of the last Century. All these 10 000 Bodybuilding Persons are representing all historically known traditional International Bodybuilding Federations. Comparing with the Bodybuilding Encyclopedia made by USA Bodybuilding Organizers in Internet, our „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ covers 90% wider information than the one of the USA. All Athletes of these Federations of the last 120 years, who took high places at the Official Competitions as the World and Continent Am and Pro Championships, are in our Encyclopedia. All known International Officials and Organizers are also in our Encyclopedia as well. Our „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ will be published in various popular languages, including the Chinese language. IMPORTANT WORLD BODYBUILDING FACTS. We would like to underline that the 2022 year was an extraordinary year for the World‘s bodybuilding. In 2022 the International Sport Society is celebrating 55-th anniversaryof the World‘s Oldest Traditional Bodybuilding Contest „Amber Prix International“ (международный турнир „Янтарныйприз», “Gintarinis prizas”, 1968-2022). In 2022 the International Sport Society is celebrating the 125-th anniversary of the first bodybuilding contest ever (held in 1898 in England and Russia). Also in 1898 in England the first Bodybuilding „Health and Strength“ Magazine was started to issue and it is issued until now by ROY EDWARDS. In 2022 the International Sport Society is celebrating the 95-th anniversary of female fitness. It is connected with BRONE‘s DUBAR regular trainings and participation in New York City in 1928. We are glad that the Americans started collecting additional historic information about BRONE DUBAR for the coming „Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding“. BRONE DUBAR with her family emigrated from Lithuania to the USA right before the First World War. INFORMATION. More detailed information on the Global International Site www.wff.lt, see forum topics. 2022. WORLD BODYBUILDING TODAY. CONTEMPORARY BODYBUILDING IS NOT A SPORT. Today bodybuilding moves fastly. Many new organizations appear, many private businessmen are cheating bodybuilders and organize contests with „great names“. They have no history. Now bodybuilding is only business and commerce. It has nothing to do with real sport HOW IT STARTED. Bodybuilding became a recognized sport in 1947. Then during more than twenty years through A.A.U. (Amateur Athletic Union) and F.I.H.C. (F.I.H., Federation Internationale Halterophile; now I.W.F., International Weightlifting Federation); the „Father of the USA Weightlifting“ BOB HOFFMAN ruled the World‘s bodybuilding sport. . Through the F.I.H.C. behind BOB HOFFMAN was I.O.C. (International Olympic Committee). F.I.H.C. organized bodybuilding World and Continent Championships, the International „Universe“ contests. The first F.I.H.C. „Universe“ was organized in 1947 in the US, the second during the 1948 Olympic Games in London. KNOCKING AT THE I.O.C. DOORS. For over twenty years due to the efforts of BOB HOFFMAN bodybuilding was the officially recognized sport. Basing on the F.I.H.C. BOB HOFFMAN developed plans about the bodybuilding to become an Olympic kind of sport. For long time the I.O.C. President AVERY BRUNDAGE was supporting the work of BOB HOFFMAN. At that time bodybuilders were respected and they were really proud of bodybuilding. Businessmen like BEN and JOE WEDER brothers were envying BOB HOFFMAN but due to his official position could not be equal to him. BOB HOFFMAN was not only a respectful sport Leader and Trainer. He was a successfull businessman. He was producung sport equiment, proteins. He was issuing sport books and magazines. Also BOB HOFFMAN was financially supporting many sportsmen. BOB HOFFMAN used to bring best USA weightlifters and bodybuilders to the highest level International contests. It was because of his efforts that for several decades N.A.B.B.A. in Europe had the best USA bodybuilders at the „Universe“ competition. During the „cold war“ it was BOB HOFFMAN who organized the F.I.H.C. bodybuilding „Mr. Universe“ in the Socialist Warszawa (Poland) in 1959. The contest was held together with the F.I.H.C. Weightlifting World Championship. Then the Socialist people saw „live“ best World‘s bodybuilders first time. The bodybuilding sport started it‘s road to the Socialist World then. OVERTHROW IN WORLD BODYBUILDING. In 1969 F.I.H.C. stopped supporting bodybuilding. Until now nuobody knows the reason why the General Secretary of F.I.H.C. British OSCAR STATE initiated to change the order and life of the World bodybuilding sport. Though OSCAR STATE worked together in F.I.H.C. with BOB HOFFMAN for many years - to do this he neglected A.A.U. and he had chosen JOE and BEN WEIDER brothers who were running their private I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) Company. Going the official way the private I.F.B.B. Company was a zero value. The officially registered International Sport federation was the only way to go. OSCAR STATE made the WEIDER to use his plan. It was OSCAR STATE who wrote the I.F.B.B. Constitution. Then in 1970 in Belgrade (Yugoslavia) the real I.F.B.B. as sport federation was born. OSCAR STATE knew very well that the federation ment not so much. It needed the membership in G.A.I.S.F. (General Association of International Sports Federations). OSCAR STATE initiated that WEIDER brothers secretly from other International Bodybuilding Organizations (like A.A.U. and N.A.B.B.A.) addressed the G.A.I.S.F. for membership. In 1971 the I.F.B.B. got the G.A.I.S.F. membership. Then all other International bodybuilding leaders and organizations were awakened. It was too late. Rules of G.A.I.SF. declared that only one International federation can represent one kind of sport. The doors of the G.A.I.S.F. were closed for others. World bodybuilding leaders reacted very negatively to this and we will explain about this in our next item of this article soon. CONGRESS TO STOP I.F.B.B. MEMBERSHIP IN G.A.I.S.F.. In 1972 in Kansas State A.A.U. International Congress was held. The Congress was to discuss the I.F.B.B. membership in G.A.I.S.F.. I.F.B.B. President BEN WEIDER was among the participants of the event. Many well known International Bodybuilding Leaders were against the I.F.B.B. membership in G.A.I.S.F.. They wanted the I.F.B.B. out of the G.A.I.S.F.. To calm down the emotions unexpectedly BEN WEIDER addressed the Congress saying that I.F.B.B. will join the A.A.U.. By voting the BEN WEIDERS decision was supported only by two participants of the Congress. I.F.B.B. could not enter the A.A.U.. Finally the opposition of the WEDER brothers JOE and BEN could not control the situation. BOB HOFFMAN lost and that was the hardest problem of his life. I.F.B.B. FINANCES. Being a member of G.A.I.S.F. the I.F.B.B. received not only recognition. G.A.I.S.F. made a possibility for the I.F.B.B. to get governmental money from previous Communist Countries and the Countries of the „Third World“. The mentioned countries basing on membership in W.A.D.A. still finance the I.F.B.B. activities. Aiming to enlarge their business profits the WEIDER brothers JOE nad BEN were seeking for I.F.B.B. the recognition of the I.O.C. (International Olympic Committee). Ending the last century the I.O.C. gave for the I.F.B.B. a two years trial. Very soon after attending I.F.B.B. contests the I.O.C. refused to recognize the I.F.B.B. and stopped any relations with it. Seeng no future in bodybuilding business WEIDER brothers sold the I.F.B.B., the „Olympia“ contest, all magazines and other activities connected with sport. International dissorder in bodybuilding started. In October, 2022 W.A.D.A. (World Anti_Doping Agency)stopped working with the I.F.B.B.. This means that the above mentioned previous Communist Countries and the Countries of the „Third World“ will stop financing the I.F.B.B. federation soon. There are many reasons. For example, at the 2002 I.F.B.B. World Championship (Cairo, Egypt) W.A.D.A. controlled thirty five finalists. Twenty eight of thirty five bodybuilders were positive with doping... The mentioned countries basing on membership in W.A.D.A. still finance the I.F.B.B. activities. Aiming to enlarge their business profits the WEIDER brothers JOE and BEN were seeking for I.F.B.B. the recognition of the I.O.C. (International Olympic Committee). Ending the last century the I.O.C. gave for the I.F.B.B. a two years trial. Very soon after attending I.F.B.B. contests the I.O.C. refused to recognize the I.F.B.B. and stopped any relations with it. Seeing no future in bodybuilding business WEIDER brothers sold the I.F.B.B., the „Olympia“ contest, all magazines and other activities connected with sport. International disorder in bodybuilding started. WHERE WE ARE TODAY? I.F.B.B. was two times split and divided after WEIDER brothers left bodybuilding. Fierce fighting for money started. Every day new „federations“ appear and all of them are not at all connected with sport. These „federations“ have no history, they have no serious future plans – only ill ambitions and wish of money. Their competitions are not official. Think what does it mean „weekends“, „festivals“, „knights“ and ‚rainbows“... ask sport ministry of any country and you will get short answer about them. The chairmen and owners of those „federations“ fool and cheat sport society. In difference to these „federations“ the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness federation, World Body Building Federation) has a clear vision of bodybuilding future. COVID-19 and war in Ukraine stopped the W.F.F – W.B.B.F. work to reach the goals. The W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. seeks the official recognition of bodybuilding sport as BOB HOFFMAN did before. There are ways to collaborate with the U.N., U.N.E.S.C.O. and I.O.C.. The work started. We are sure that uniting 140 countries and working together with other International Organizations the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. will fulfill their plans. INFORMATION. WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY. 1988. FIRST OFFICIAL U.S.S.R. BODYBUILDING CUP. BACKGROUND. We started working on the second part of the „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ („Pasaulio kultūrizmo enciklopedija“, «Энциклопедиямировогокультуризма»). The book will cover the time since 1973 until 1991. In 1973 the bodybuilding sport was prohibited and prosecuted in the Socialist Countries. In 1991 the Socialist System was ruined. Looking from the point of view of the Communist regime about twenty years bodybuilding was on illegal position in the Socialist Countries. Being afraid many organizers and bodybuilders stopped the activities. Only two regular traditional contests were organized in the U.S.S.R.. That were the „Georg Tenno Memorial („Georgo tenno Memorialas“, «МемориалГеоргаТенно», Tallinn, Estonian SSR, 1971 - 1989) and the „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR, 1968 - 2022). The organizer of the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ was INNAR MARDO (ИннарМардо, 1946 – 2002) and the organizer of the organizer of the „Amber Prix“ was DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. All other Socialist Countries did not organize the traditional International competitions. Later during the „MIKHAIL GORBACHOV Perestrojka“ (Перестройка) the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport (Goskomsport, ГоскомспортС.С.С.Р.) recognized the „Amber Prix International“ as the unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship. Then the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport started presenting to the Champions of the „Amber Prix International“ the honourable titles of the „U.S.S.R. Sport Master“ («МастерспортаС.С.С.Р.). To set the official U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation in 1987 the U.S.S.R. Congress of bodybuilders was organized in Kubenka city (near Moscow, Russian Federation). To the position of the President was ellected an Olympic Weightlifting Champion JURIJ VLASOV (ОлимпийскийчемпионЮрийВласов). In 1988 in Leningrad (Russian Federation) the first official „U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Cup“ («КубокС.С.С.Р. покультуризму») was held. The contest was recognized by the U.S.S.R. Government. National teams on many Socialist Countries participated at the event. 2023. WORLD BODYBUILDING HISTORY. ONLY THREE CONTESTS HAD HISTORIC STRATEGIC VALUE. Today the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) International unites 140 Country – Members and organizes nearly 60 annual Amateur and Professional International Events World Wide. Looking from the juridical point of view the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International is no doubt the Real World Bodybuilding Leader. Crowning it‘s 55 years of International Bodybuilding activities, the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. works on the Unique Global International Bodybuilding Project - the „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ («Энциклопедиявсемирногокультуризма», “Pasaulio kultūrizmo enciklopedija”). Part One of the Encyclopedia covering period since ancient times to 1973 is finished. Now we are working on the Second Book covering period of time since 1973 until 1991. ONLY THREE CONTESTS HAD HISTORIC STRATEGIC VALUE. There are many various level competitions around us and the value to the World‘s sport of every one is diferent. Through the time today working on the „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ we can clearly see what really every competition means to our sport. During the eighties of the last Century only three contests played great historic role to the Socialist Bodybuilding and to the World‘s Bodybuilding as well. The World was divided politically and the Bodybuilding Sport was prohibited in the Socialist Countries. It was a big risk to everybody to be connected with this sport. This means that always we look upon the same things from the diferent point of view. Today we can underline that only three events were extremelly important for the further development of bodybuilding: - 1974 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («МемориалГеоргаТенно», Tallinn, Estonina SSR, organized Innar Mardo, ИннарМардо) 1975 I.F.B.B. 1988. U.S.S.R. FIRST OFFICIAL BODYBUILDING CUP. The contest was held in the prestigeaus Leningrad City Palace „Oktiabrskij (дворец „Октябрьский», Ленинград). The delegates and the athletes lived in the superious hotels. The Champions of the first supported by the Government USSR Bodybuilding Cup pirmenybių («Кубок С.С.С.Р. по культуризму») were the known bodybuilders: STANISLAV POLIAKOV (Станислав Поляков, Riga, Latvian SSR; trained by FELIKS SAJKOVSKIJ – Феликс Сайковский) VALERIJ BOGDANOVIC (Валерий Богданович, Minsk, Belorussian SSR; prepared without a trainer) SAULIUS MISEVICIUS (Kaunas, Lithuanian SSR, prepared without a trainer) VIKTORAS JUCYS (Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR; trained by DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS). The Over All Champion of the 1988 U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Cup was VIKTORAS JUCYS. WHAT IS OFFICIAL RECOGNIZED FEDERATION. TRAINER OF CHAMPION. During the last years appeared many “new federations” which fool sportsmen. No International organizations recognize them and their activities mean nothing to the sport. (“General Association of International Sports Federations”) – bodybuilding was a recognized and respected sport. Forget the official bodybuilding after during the last years I.F.B.B. two times was divided (2008, 2015). Only seeking money and fighting for profit is left. Last President of I.F.B.B. 2023. Celebrating fifty six years of the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. (World Fitness Federation, World Body Building Federation) International Activities and confronting the coming New Year of 2023 - Congratulating Words of the President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International DSc. Edmundas Daubaras. Dear Friends, Closing the year of the 2022 we want to thank all of You for the huge work that was done. We have been working much and achieved good positive results in 2022 again. Today the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International Federation unites National Organizations of 140 countries, that represent all Continents. Contemporary bodybuilding moves fastly. Many new organizations appear, many private businessmen are cheating bodybuilders and organize contests with „great names“. They have no history. They have no future. Nothing is official. No official Institutions recognize any of them. In 2022 W.A.D.A. (World Anti Doping Agency) refused to recognize the I.F.B.B. (international Federation of Body Builders). Now bodybuilding is only business and commerce. It has nothing to do with real sport. The W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International steps into the 56-th year of it’s activities. Two years lasting COVID-19 and now the war in Ukraine complicated work of all fields of life. Sport too. In 2022 W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International organized huge events in America, Asia and Europe. It was not easy but we did it: -The 23-d “Universe” contest, Ludhiana, India. -The 2022 International Congress and Press Conference, Ludhiana, India. The Congress was led by International President DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS, Vice Presidents ANDREJ BASOV and Professor LALIT KUMAR SONI. Leaders of the India ruling political party were present at these events. -The Historic 55-th “Amber Prix International” and the 33-d World Championship, Klaipeda, Republic Lithuania. -In the beginning of July, 2022 during the Official Visit of the International President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS to Poland the nearest future plans were discussed. In the beginning of September, 2022 the Official Meeting with the High Governmental Officials of the Republic Poland was planned. The Official Meeting took place on September 4, 2022 in City Bydgoszcz. At the meeting were present International President DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS, International Vice President Professor LALIT KUMAR SONI, Member Parliament Poland JAN SZOPINSKI (Jan Josef Szopinski), Vice Major City Bydgoszcz KAZIMIERZ DROZD, Mecenat JERZY GOTOWSKI and a number of businessmen. At the Meeting important International questions were spoken over. Among them the 2023 Official Visit of the High Delegation Poland to India and the visit to the Headquarters United Nations. Also at the Meeting President W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS presented the International Honour Gold Medal to the Member Parliament Poland JAN SZOPINSKI. Today the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International unites 140 Country – Members and organizes nearly 60 annual Amateur and Professional International Events World Wide. Looking from the juridical point of view the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International is no doubt the Real World Bodybuilding Leader. The W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. works on the Unique Global International Bodybuilding Project - the „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ («Энциклопедиявсемирногокультуризма», “Pasaulio kultūrizmo enciklopedija”). Part One of the Encyclopedia covering period since ancient times to 1973 is finished. Now we are working on the Second Book covering period of time since 1973 until 1991. In 2016 under the initiative of the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International the International Sport University (I.S.U., Tarptautinis sporto universitetas, Международный университет спорта; www.isuniversity.lt ) was established and registered in the European Union. Under the guidance of talanted administrators and scientists now it works succcessfully. In 2017 the I.S.U. became the Associated member of the U.N.E.S.C.O. organization at the U.N. (United Nations). Professor of four Universities VASILIJ BESPALENKO and Professor LALIT KUMAR SONI work activelly at the International Sports University. Some time ago the Chairman Parliament Republic Slovakia Mgr. Art. Andrej Hrciar sent his congratulating words to the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International and also he awarded the International President DSc. Edmundas Daubaras with the Honour Award of the Parliament Republic Slovakia. After several years we would like to remember that in 2012 in Vatican through His personal letter the Roman Pope Benedictus XVI (Benedetto XVI)blessed the W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. International activities. Representing World‘s Fitness and Bodybuilding Sport the W.F.F.-International and the W.B.B.F.-International are the only ones World Wide Officially Registered International Non Profit Sport Organizations that work well for our sport so long time. New ideas and tremendous work done for the International Sport make the W.F.F. and W.B.B.F. to be the today’s International Leaders in Bodybuilding and Fitness World Wide. We mean the Official Level. The W.F.F. and W.B.B.F. do not live yesterday’s life. We have lots of new Global Bodybuilding Projects ahead. W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. plans huge events in India, Thailand, Poland, Brasil and Lithuania in 2023. The work already goes on. W.F.F. – W.B.B.F. seeks the recognition of bodybuilding sport as that was real during the „BOB HOFFMAN‘s“ times. In 2023 we plan colaboration with the U.N., U.N.E.S.C.O. and I.O.C. as well. We are sure to reach our goals uniting 140 contry-members and working together with various International Organizations. HEALTH, SUCCESS, LUCK AND HAPPINESS IN 2023!!! God bless all of us in our sincere pray!

He was responsible to prepare “foreign passports” and Australia visas for the Lithuanian bodybuilders. ROMANAS KALINAUSKAS was angry about being not included to the delegation to Australia. He stopped the passports of VIKTORAS JUCYS and SAULIUS MISEVICIUS. Bodybuilders arrived to the airport and waited for the passports. The passports did not come… INFORMATION. WORLD BODYBUILDING ENCYCLOPEDIA. 1987 INTERNATIONAL CONTEST „WHITE NIGHTS“. Preparing the 2-d book of the „World Bodybuilding Encyclopedia“ (“Энциклопедиявсемирногокультуризма») we will publish some separate historical articles of that time(1973 – 1991). To participate as a guest at the 1986 historic „Amber Prix International“ («Янтарныйприз», “Gintarinis prizas”, 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Republic Lithuania) DSC. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS (Др. ЭдмундасДаубарас) invited from Leningrad (Russian Federation) a former famous U.S.S.R. bodybuilder VLADIMIR DUBININ (ВладимирДубинин). After loosing at the 1974 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («МемориалГеоргаТенно», 1971 – 1989, Tallinn, Estinian SSR) VLADIMIR DUBININ stopped participating at competitions and did not appear at the International events. When the 1986 „Amber Prix International“ ended the VIP International bodybuilding persons came together to the appartments of DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS in Klaipeda. The reason was to discuss the plans of the future development of bodybuilding sport in the U.S.S.R. and Socialist Countries and to start the new U.S.S.R. Bodybuildin Federation. At the meeting participated: a well known U.S.S.R. bodybuilder VLADIMIR DUBININ, since 1975 representing Russian Federation at the International events VLADIMIR SUBOV (ВладимирШубов, Moscow), 1985-1986 International contest organizer in Ukraine ARKADIJ KASANSKIJ (АркадийКашанский, Charkov, Ukrainian SSR) and the historic „Amber Prix“ organizer DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS. At that time DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was the only one among the U.S.S.R. bodybuilding leadres who perfectly knew several foreign languages. Also foreign situation was discussed as DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS was in touch with the I.F.B.B. (International Federation of Body Builders) President BEN WEIDER, the W.A.B.B.A. (World Amateur Body Building Association) President SERGE NUBRET (Serge Nubret) and the N.A.B.B.A. (National Amateur Body Building Association) President OSCAR HEIDENSTAM. Note: during the prohibition of bodybuilding in the U.S.S.R. and Socialist Countries the „Amber Prix International“ was the only one regularly organized International Bodybuilding competition in the Socalist World. Later the U.S.S.R. Ministry of Sport (U.S.S.R. Goskomsport, ГоскомспортС.С.С.Р.) recognized the „Amber Prix“ as the „unofficial U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Championship“ (неофициальныйчемпионатС.С.С.Р. покультуризму) and started presenting to the „Amber Prix“ Champions the title of the „U.S.S.R. Sport Master“ («МастерспортаС.С.С.Р.»). At the 1986 International meeting in Klaipeda participants discussed the starting of the new U.S.S.R. Bodybuilding Federation“ («ФедерацияС.С.С.Р.покультуризму»). VLADIMIR DUBININ preposed the organize in Leningrad the International „White nights“ contest along with the „Amber Prix International“ and „Georg Tenno Memorial“. „WHITE HIGHTS“. In 1987 VLADIMIR DUBININ organized the International „White Nights“ competition as it was decided in Klaipeda. The contest was held at the still prestigeous in Russia „Leningrad Palace Oktiabrskij“ («ДворецОктябрьский»). Bodubuilders of various U.S.S.R. republics participated at the event. There are many various level competitions around us and the value to the World‘s sport of every one is different. This means that always we look upon the same things from the different point of view. Today we can underline that only three events were extremely important for the further development of bodybuilding: - 1974 „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («МемориалГеоргаТенно», Tallinn, Estonian SSR, organized Innar Mardo, ИннарМардо) 1975 I.F.B.B. Europe Championship (Amsterdam, Holland. Peter Stach from Czechoslovakia had broken the „Iron Wall“ and won the Europe Champion‘s title) - 1978 „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, „Янтарный приз», Klaipeda, Lithuanian SSR, organized by DSc. Edmundas Daubaras, Др. Эдмундас Даубарас). We will speak about each of the mentioned events and explain the essence. Only due to them our sport looks as it looks now. 1974. “GEORG TENNO MEMORIAL”. BEGINNING. Due to political reasons after 1971 bodybuilding in Socialist Countries was in problems. Finally in 1973 bodybuilding sport was prohibited in the U.S.S.R. and all Socialist Countries. Bodybuilding activities were prosecuted. The press was full of negative articles about bodybuilding. Competitions were not organized at that time. But there were some exceptions. Representative of the Estonian SSR INNAR MARDO (ИннарМардо, 1946 – 2002) and his friends started pressing the polititians of the Estonian SSR. They presented bodybuilding as a national kind of sport in Estonian SSR. They spoke about old Estonian traditions in power sports, strongmen and wrestling. All remembered such known Estonian sport persons as GEORG LURICH (ГеоргЛурих, 1876 - 1920), GEORG HACKENSCHMIDT (Георг Гаккеншмидт, 1878 – 1968), Olympic Champion KRISTIAN PALUSALU (Kristian Trossmann, КристианПалусалу, 1908 – 1987). Estonian GEORG TENNO(Георг Тенно, 1911 - 1967) for long years on was working at the high sport offices of the U.S.S.R.. This was in 1971 when Estonians started organizing in Tallinn the International „Georg Tenno Memorial“ («Мемориал Георга Тенно», 1971 – 1989) competition. The contest was nearly on regular basis and local governments somehow supported it. Similar to Estonians did the bodybuilders of Czechslovakia. To hide the real bodybuilding basis they added a number of power exercises in their contests. In Lithuania competitions were held underground and without public. In 1974 DSc. EDMUNDAS DAUBARAS organized the fourth historic „Amber Prix International“ („Gintarinis prizas“, «Янтарныйприз», 1968 – 2022, Klaipeda, Lithuanian Republic). It was held in a city bomb shelter. After this the „Amber Prix“ was organized regularly. In 1976 the International Competition was held in Kalinin (Tver, Russian Federation). The Contest was done in a small city gym. In 1977 an International Contest was organized in a small Lithuanian SSR city Kedainiai and it was held in a small gym too. Lithuanians as well as bodybuilders of other Socialist Countries were hiding the bodybuilding with the power exercises. In 1974 the „Georg Tenno Memorial“ was the only one bodybuilding contest in the U.S.S.R. which was supported by the Estonian Government. Though the U.S.S.R. polititians were prohibiting to do this.
